🍽️ **Taste of Ancaster Spotlight!**🍷
The story of the Ancaster Mill is intertwined with the very beginnings of Ancaster, one of Ontario's oldest communities. Milling on this site dates back to 1791, though three previous mills were lost to fire over the years. The impressive limestone structure that stands today was built in 1863 using stone quarried directly from the property, with walls nearly four feet thick at their base.
In 1972, the Ciancone family purchased and lovingly restored the historic building, transforming it into the renowned restaurant and special events destination that officially opened in 1979. Today, it remains one of Hamilton's most iconic dining and wedding venues.
What truly sets the Ancaster Mill apart is its breathtaking setting. Guests can enjoy contemporary Canadian cuisine while overlooking cascading waterfalls, lush gardens, and the historic creek that powered the original mill more than two centuries ago. The restaurant is celebrated for its farm-to-table philosophy, featuring locally sourced and seasonal ingredients that showcase the best of our region.
From elegant dinners and legendary Sunday brunches to unforgettable weddings and special celebrations, the Ancaster Mill continues to be a gathering place where history, community, and exceptional hospitality come together.
