Peace in the Park is Thumbs Up’s annual community music festival held at Nose Creek Park in Airdrie as part of ‘Resiliency Awareness Month’ each September. The event supports Thumbs Up’s vision of a world where su***de is never the outcome by fostering connection, awareness, and promoting resilience through music and community engagement.

More than a music festival, this “Rockin’ for a Reason” event brings people together to celebrate and honor healers, helpers, and heroes—individuals and organizations that strengthen community well-being and make the world a kinder place.

Peace in the Park celebrates resilience and connection, featuring a full day of live music, health and wellness vendors, food trucks and so much more.

VENDOR HOURS: 12:00PM - 5:00PM
COST: Yes, you can set up a booth at no cost.

The Thumbs Up Foundation Thumbs Up Foundation and The Caring Collective Club is thrilled to announce this year’s songwriting competition. We invite you to use your voice, your story, and your creativity to inspire hope and healing.

We’re calling on songwriters of all backgrounds and experience levels to craft original pieces that reflect the spirit of the event—resilience, unity, mental wellness, and peace. Whether it’s a ballad of recovery, an anthem of hope, or a tribute to the unsung heroes in your life, we want to hear your story in song.

Selected finalists will receive a special feature and prize package.
Let your lyrics shine a light. Let your melody move hearts. Let your voice be heard.

We are so thrilled to welcome Richard Stroobant back as your emcee for Peace in the Park 4!

Richard is a member of the teaching faculty at SAIT (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology), instructing in a variety of courses focusing on audio production.

He also currently serves on the Board of Governors for SAIT and was the Interim Academic Chair for two media programs at SAIT from August 2022 - May 2023, supervising over 25 instructors, and 600 students.

Richard has been nominated and won several Teaching Excellence Awards, and he was the inaugural winner of the Clarence Hollingworth Alumni Employee Award of Excellence in 2019 at SAIT.

Prior to joining the faculty team at SAIT, Richard was an active member in the broadcast industry, spending most of my broadcasting career in the Calgary area. Notably, as a multi-award winning producer with CJAY 92.

Richard is proud to be emceeing "Peace in the Park" for the 3rd time, and is a big supporter of mental health programs in Airdrie, Calgary and at SAIT.
