10 years nuclear awareness on the big screen!
The International Uranium Film Festival (IUFF) is the only annual film festival that highlights all nuclear and radioactive issues: nuclear fuel chain, uranium mining, atomic bombs, nuclear power plants, nuclear waste. Since its first edition May 2011 in Rio de Janeiro this in the world unique film festival became a global event. More than 60 Uranium Film Festivals took place in seven countries and more than 40 cities like Berlin, München, Window Rock, Washington, Amman, New Delhi, Mumbai, New York, Sant Fe and Hollywood. Every year we receive new invitations from all over the world to bring the festival with its important films to other cities and countries.
The Uranium Film Festival is about the past and future of humanity. How safe is nuclear power? What do we do with our radioactive nuclear waste? The horror of the atomic bombing on Hiroshima and Nagasaki or the catastrophic consequences of more than 2,000 atmospheric nuclear tests and nuclear accidents like Three Mile Island, Chernobyl & Fukushima must not be forgotten or repeated. "Those who do not remember their past are doomed to repeat it," said philosopher George Santayana.
