QUECHUA LANGUAGES AND CULTURES PROGRAM AT UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA!
https://web.sas.upenn.edu/quechua/

The renewed Quechua Languages and Cultures Program at the University of Pennsylvania, widely known as Quechua at Penn, is more than a language program; it is a vibrant space for intercultural learning, Indigenous knowledge, and academic excellence.

Offered through the Penn Language Center at University of Pennsylvania, the program is dedicated to teaching Quechua as a Foreign Language (QFL) through a communicative and culturally grounded approach. Students develop practical skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing while engaging with real-world communicative contexts.

Beyond language learning, the program opens pathways into the rich Andean-Amazonian cultural world, exploring the histories, traditions, worldviews, and symbolic systems of Quechua-speaking communities. Through courses, research initiatives, and cultural and academic activities, Quechua at Penn fosters a deeper understanding of one of the most important Indigenous languages and civilizations of the Americas.

Join us in celebrating and supporting Indigenous languages, cultures, and knowledge systems. Discover our courses, research, and community initiatives, and become part of a growing movement dedicated to linguistic and cultural revitalization.

LUTUV LANGUAGE REVITALIZATION ON YOUTUBE!

Lutuv is a Kuki-Chin Indigenous language within the Tibeto-Burman family, spoken by the Lutuv (Lautu) people of Chin State, Myanmar. Since the early 2000s, religious persecution, armed conflict, political instability, and long-standing economic marginalization have led many Lutuv community members to resettle through UN refugee programs, forming vibrant diaspora communities in the United States, Australia, and New Zealand.

Since 2021, Sui H. Park, a Ph.D. student in the Literacy, Culture and Language Education program in the School of Education at Indiana University, has been creating engaging animated Lutuv language learning videos on YouTube. As of December 2025, more than 40 short videos (2–7 minutes each) are available, featuring Lutuv vocabulary, cultural concepts, traditional and Biblical stories, and everyday expressions.
