A bit of Shakespeare at school

To end the year in style, the Year 10 English class with their teacher Helen, have been exploring the world of Shakespeare.

They thoroughly enjoyed tackling the original version before creating a 15-minute modern-day performance in only one lesson !

Well done to all the Year 10 students!

Research Presentations

Part of the Musica Mundi School Diploma taken by all graduating students in their final year of school is a 9-month research project into a musical topic of their choice.

At the end of the academic year, they submit a research report and then present the results of their work to the school's management, teachers, and fellow students.

On Tuesday, June 16, our graduates delivered their presentations and answered the jury’s questions, showcasing the outcome of months of research and reflection. The topics covered a wide range of fascinating subjects and approaches - philosophical, scientific, historical, theoretical and practical.

It was a pleasure to watch our seven graduates speak with confidence and their own very individual voices and approaches about subjects that inspire them and share their passion with the school community.

Congratulations and well done to everyone!

Students volunteer at the Salvation Army Hall for people in need

On Friday 12 June, four year 10 Global Perspectives students volunteered their time at "Le Phare" at the Salvation Army Hall in place du Nouveau Marché aux Grains, 1000 Brussels.

The students supported the regular volunteers from Serve the City, the Christian Community of Stockel and the Salvation Army Brussels Central, to prepare takeaway lunch bags with sandwiches, drinks, a hot meal of couscous and vegetables, and a pot of soup.

They helped to prepare the cold food and portion the hot food for more than 90 people. They helped to serve the lunches and hand out donated shampoo to people in need, including refugees, homeless and other disadvantaged communities in central Brussels.

It was a great opportunity for our students to give back to the local community.

In turn, the Le Phare volunteers thanked our students, saying they "worked with enthusiasm and were happy to help in every aspect of the project".

Our students are now planning to return to Le Phare in autumn with a lunchtime chamber concert during the Tuesday sit-down meals provided by Le Phare.

Well done to all involved!

Group "Amical Anversois et Malinois" Visits the School

On 6 June 2026, a group of music lovers from the Antwerp and Mechelen region visited our school.

The visitors enjoyed a coffee break, followed by an introductory presentation about the school and the Fichermont Monastery. They then attended a concert performed by some of our students and took part in a guided tour of the school.

The visit concluded with a delicious lunch in the school's dining room.

Once again, this was a wonderful opportunity for music enthusiasts to discover our univers.
