🦁🎉 Happy Birthday, Waterloo Lion!!! 🎉🦁

The 200th anniversary of the creation of the historic Waterloo Lion was celebrated last night, September 12th, 2026.

And what a celebration it was!

Dozens of participants brought history to life, portraying soldiers, cavalrymen, politicians, and other personalities connected with the fascinating history of this iconic monument.

The atmosphere of celebration was heightened by several musical interludes performed beautifully by our students: chamber music, solo performances, and the Musica Mundi School Choir, under the guidance of their choirmaster, Xavier Devillers.

The choir sang “Dominique” in honour of the singing nun who lived and composed at the Fichermont Monastery, the very place where our school is now located.

More than 1,000 spectators attended this wonderful birthday celebration, which ended, of course, with an impressive fireworks display to the tune of Stevie Wonder’s “Happy Birthday.” 🎶

Bravo to all our students, who performed so beautifully last night! 👏

The School's Pony Wants to Play Football! ⚽🐴

The students at the school are extremely fond of football—but who would have imagined that the school's pony, Balthazar, would want to join in too?!

It wasn't easy to get this stubborn, very cute and clever pony back to his “home”, but thanks to the combined efforts of numerous members of staff, we finally succeeded.

So Balthazar is safely back home … until the next adventure! 🙂

“Les Jeunes de la Monnaie” at MMS

The teenage choir “Les Jeunes de la Monnaie”, together with their choir master, Benoît Giaux, came to school last weekend, September 5th and 6th, to record a new CD.

It was exciting to see all these teenagers enjoying singing together!

Good Start to the Year!

After the teachers’ and students’ induction days, school is now in full swing!

Study hour, which now takes place in the morning straight after practice time, brings all students together for an important moment of preparation for the day ahead.

Choir sessions are also being organized with our choir master, Xavier, as we prepare for the 200th anniversary of the Waterloo Lion on September 12th.

Sports activities have got off to a great start as well, with Candice, our sports teacher.

It’s wonderful to rediscover all the elements that make up our school week and engage in them once again!

The 9th year in the life of Musica Mundi School is off to a fantastic start!

Following two dynamic, activity-filled days of teacher training, we were delighted to welcome our students for the induction days.

These special days gave our new students the opportunity to connect with returning students, teachers, staff, and management, while everyone came together to begin this new chapter as a community.

The induction sessions were also a valuable opportunity to share important information and prepare everyone for the exciting school year ahead.

And, of course, no first days at MMS would be complete without plenty of fun and laughter! 🎵

This year’s opening activities brought together imagination, music, and improvisation, helping students and staff connect, collaborate, and celebrate the spirit of creativity and openness that lies at the heart of Musica Mundi School.
It all ended with the traditional and fun “apple & pear picking” !!

Here’s to another inspiring year filled with learning, growth, friendship, creativity, and harmony! 🌟🎻

Teachers and Staff Days!

What a joy it is to be, once again, among colleagues!

As the week comes to a close, management, teachers, and staff gathered for two wonderful days, on 27–28 August 2026, to reconnect, prepare for the upcoming academic year, enjoy some fun and games, and, of course, raise the traditional toast to the success of Musica Mundi School’s 9th year!

And now, it’s the students’ turn!

This weekend, 29–30 August 2026, they will arrive to once again fill the buildings with joy, laughter, and, naturally… music! 🎶

We can’t wait to welcome them back! 🙂
