Yesterday, we wrapped up the

And what an edition it has been! Endless mountains, cols, valleys, sunrises, sunsets and storms. From Belgium to Spain, crossing the Ardennes, Vosges, Alps, Central Massif, and Pyrenees.

Out of 160 starters, 116 reached the finish in time. Just one day before the cutoff, we welcomed Sara (Cap144) at the finish line, marking an incredible achievement for the community. She became the 8th solo woman to finish this edition, following her participation in the Women’s Camp and the Transpyrenees in previous years, and now completing the Transiberica too.

Bernd Lucassen (Cap26) was the last solo rider across the line yesterday, officially claiming our Lanterne Rouge. Like many others, he thanked the organisers for an incredibly beautiful but tough route. With our Lanterne Rouge home, we officially close the 9th edition of Transiberica.

A massive thank you to everyone who was part of this adventure. You’re truly an inspiration to so many of us. 🙌

Tomorrow, the final chapter of will close.

The final riders are still out on the road, with some of them taking on the Finish Parcourse, the last 180km of Transiberica.

For some, it’ll be one last chance to push hard. For others, it’ll be about slowing down and enjoying those final kilometres of a journey that has taken two weeks, thousands of kilometres, and a huge amount of energy and determination.

For the past six days, riders have been rolling into the finish in Bilbao.

We’ve already welcomed 90 riders who have completed more than 2800km across four countries.

Their faces show the wear and tear of so many days on the bike, but also the satisfaction of completing such an incredible challenge. And those who have already crossed the line are sticking around, waiting for the riders they shared the road with. That’s what it’s all about!

Our first pair home was Santiago Fernandez & Jorge Calcedo (Cap 231&232). The Spanish duo enjoyed the views of Bilbao on the final descent and arrived in a time of 8 d 0 h 19 m. They managed to build up quite a margin on their competitors and arrived over 10 hours ahead of mixed pair Sheila Fiedler & Rafael Wyss (Cap 211& 212). It was a hard fought race between these riders with Sheila and Rafael leading for much of the race. Ultimately, they lost the lead just before the Pyrenees but will still be happy with a very solid race. David Rubio & Alfonso Bea (Cap 213&214) rounded out the pairs podium in 3rd place.

Day 10, and we’re still keeping an eye on the tracking map. Most of the back-pack reached Col de Pailhères today, but there’s still a long way to go.

With time still on their side before Sunday’s cut-off, riders continue pushing on, determined to make it all the way to the finish line.

Keep pushing, Bilbao is waiting!

From the top of Urbasa at 923m, riders are crossing Basajaun territory at the beginning of the final parcours.

The parcours brings some relief as they get closer to the finish line, although it’s not quite as short as it might seem. This 180km section heads north through the País Vasco, with some tough climbs along the way before the final descent from Umbe.

One last sting before the finish line is finally within touching distance.

Eva Frings (Cap57) is the first woman to finish !

At just 22, the Berlin-based rider was the youngest participant in this edition. Despite a few bruises and a missing fingernail after her unfortunate crash at CP4, she kept pushing and delivered an impressive performance, averaging 317 km per day and finishing in 8 days, 18 hours and 9 minutes.

She held the gap all the way to Bilbao, with our second female finisher, Nathalie Goemans (Cap117), following behind and finishing in 9 days and 2 hours. Nathalie has also completed her second Transiberica in a row, improving her performance from last year.

Massive kudos to both of them!

CP9 is the first checkpoint and the only one on this year’s route in Spain, following the cancellation of CP10, San Juan de la Peña, due to the recent fires.

The parcours is 81km long, with 4300m of elevation gain, combining four climbs: Coll de la Josa, Coll de Port, Port del Comte and the highest point, Coll de Pradell at 1732m. Its brutal ramps, including just over 4 km at gradients exceeding 10% and a 1 km stretch averaging 15%, forced riders to dig deep to reach the summit.

But the spectacular views dominated by the iconic Pedraforca (one of the most iconic mountains in the Catalan Pre-Pyrenees) offered a reward for the huge effort and made this a section to remember.

CP7 has been anything but easy on our riders.

Stormy conditions with temperatures below 15°C during the day and around 10°C at night. Many riders have been caught in heavy rain and crazy wind.

The back pack should reach Pas de Peyrol tomorrow. Fingers crossed the weather is kind to them after so many days on the bike.
