Eighteen flags rise like monuments, suspended in a state of ascent, between pride and collapse.
Born from the textile traditions of Flanders, each surface carries the memory of touch, labour, devotion, and power.

Six premier companies showcasing six distinct techniques, weaving eighteen unique identities into one collective landscape of rising forms. In collaboration with B&T Textilia Ragolle Rugs Sofa Cover BekaertDeslee and the social enterprise AAROVA.

ASCENDANT is a textile installation by Charbel abou Zeidan a Lebanese designer based in Kortrijk, whose work lies at the intersection of fashion, architecture and visual arts.

It is the result of TEX DESIGN, a Fedustria initiative that connects Belgian textile companies with creative talent, in collaboration with Designregio Kortrijk and POM West-Vlaanderen

Maximiliaan Schevenhels Maximiliaan Rafael C. Schevenhels is an architect and designer working at the intersection of architecture, object design and scenography. During Design Drinks & Talks, he will present ‘Second Matter’, an installation for Quick-Step Floor Designers in collaboration with Designregio Kortrijk that brings the transformative power of recycling to life.

Vessel - community clay centre ceramics studio, founded by Sophie Caure and Jannahfield is a creative meeting place where ceramics, experimentation and community come together. During WONDER, they will present The Second Supper, a collective table installation in which thirteen Belgian ceramicists use ceramics as an expressive medium and a means of storytelling.

Robin Berrewaerts is a Brussels-based designer whose work is situated between furniture design and sculpture. Taking wood as his starting point, he explores the boundaries of form, function and materiality through an intuitive creative process. During WONDER he organises the group exhibition Jeu de Main.

WONDER Festival en nodigen op 27-28-29-30 oktober klassen uit voor een interactieve ontdekkingstocht doorheen de Kortrijkse binnenstad langs demo’s, try-outs en verwonderende expo’s rond technologie, innovatie, design en kunst.

Leerlingen en studenten ontdekken wat technologie en design vandaag én morgen mogelijk maken: van AI, gezondheidstechnologie, product design, STEM robotica tot circulair en regeneratief ontwerpen, drones, gaming en meer. Verwacht je niet aan klassieke expo’s waar je alleen kijkt, maar een beleving waar leerlingen vooral zelf aan de slag gaan.

Voor wie?
Klassen uit het 5e en 6e lager en secundair onderwijs (afgestemd op de leeftijd en het niveau van de leerlingen), hoger onderwijs en deeltijds onderwijs.

The exhibition that started it all: WE ARE THE NEXT GENERATION.

Every year, WE ARE THE NEXT GENERATION showcases the design talents to keep an eye on. From architecture to product design, and from graphic design to jewellery design.

An initiative by Designregio Kortrijk in collaboration with Design Museum Gent

This year, the exhibition is twofold. Some of the selected works will be exhibited from 3–11 October at BROEI in Ghent during the festive reopening of Design Museum Gent and Design Fest Gent whilst others will be on display at the WONDER Creativity Festival Budafabriek Kortrijk from 27 October to 8 November.
