THE CODE DANCE COMPETITION

ABOUT THE CODE is a brand new dance competition and concept! CREATIVITY / OPEN-MINDED / DEDICATED / EQUALITY The Code stands for 4 key words. These words represent our organisation, competition and state of mind. Creativity: everybody has his own style and creativity. Use this creativity as as a dancer and as a person in life. Open-Minded: we don’t judge people on there appearence, look, s*x, age or origin. Everybody is welcome at The Code. We also believe that urban dance can be a lot of different things and styles. It’s how you present it and how you use it in a choreography. We are open-minded in our rules as well as in our thinking. Dedicated: The Code exists of 4 dedicted people, all with different experiences, lifes and backgrounds. They, as well as all the volunteers, want to be professional in everything they do and project this to others. We also stand for dedication in sports (dance in particular) and want to show that dancing (in team) means being dedicated in training, always keep on learning, stay humble and never give up. Equality: everyone that enters our competition is equal. It doesn’t matter if you are young or old, experienced or the new kid. Everyone deserves a chance to show and perform their skills. Respect each others work. The judges will keep this in mind as well. For the first time in Belgium, we will organise a dance competition where not only the choreography is important. We would like the dancers to express themselves on stage and perform a real show! This is why we use a theater as a stage and where teams can show off there skills, without judgment about how many urban styles they use. The important thing for us is that everyone, by this we mean the dancers, coaches and audience, enjoys there evening full of entertainmaint! The show must go on! Also important: we provide PRICE MONEY for the winning teams in every category! We do this because we want to give these teams an opportunity to reward them for their good work, but also because it can be a tool to invest in there learning proces (by going to workshops, using a better training space, buy new outfits for competitions, etc.), so that all talent can develop better!
