On the one hand Cultuur Gent gives artists the chance to use the city as a place to play and create and on the other hand it makes street art accessible to a large public. We look at street art in the broad sense of the word: it is an physical artistic intervention, temporary or permanent, but always interacting with the public space.

Here’s to ‘Decay’ by !
Painted during the summer of 2016, on the occasion of the Festival.

Miramiro used to invite a different artist each year to design their festival poster. !
During the festival the artist in question was also asked to create a mural. !

Due to renovation works the artwork could not be saved...
This was Aryz his first and only mural in Ghent. Sad it’s gone, hope he’ll come back to our city one fine day!

Binnen het kader van het Sorry, Not Sorry straatkunstenfestival, dat in mei 2024 voor de tweede keer in de wijk Moscou-Vogelhoek plaats vond, zetten we een nieuw tijdelijk project op poten: ZIJSPOOR.
Voor ZIJSPOOR cureren Lukas Verstraete en Martha Verschaffel een doorlopende tentoonstelling op het billboard aan Moscou Viaduct (Gontrodestraat). Elke twee maanden creëert een kunstenaar een beeld voor het billboard, waarvoor deze zich laat inspireren door de wijk (Moscou-Vogelhoek).
