a seasonal raveraise, where we beam our energy we generate while dancing, for the right to housing

each season we try to organise a raveraise, a moment where we beam out our energy we generate dancing so we can step into the revolution, collectively moving towards a new world that we build together with our rhythm and sounds. so we can rise under a roof for everyone raised and supported by our shared dance and resonated riddims. one of the obvious implications of this idea is that we donate the

money we gain from this directly to the love-guerillas fighting for the right for a house for everyone and to the touched ones trying to create a roof where everybody feels welcome. feel welcome, be you and lose yourself in the music so we can find each other in the dance.

a very inspiring woman inspiring us in what we try to do, gathering people around music, playing and dancing along. she calls and gathers us around her gentle yet powerful fire to warm our legs and wake up our spirits for our looooong dance to and through the city.

we start our walk slowly and carefully from campus atelier with a hamdam jam ! hamdam means sharing the same breath in Persian , for Ehsan it means playing music together. bring your instrument and your voice, be shy and come anyway, let’s honor that shared breath !

arriving in the city centre, we want the heart of the city to beat once again ! for that we asked the queen of dub and the queen of bass and rhythm for their first b2b ever. yes yes they are fresher, more local and bubbling then a kombucha, they steer the tables in the names of erykah and pala10. kom and bucha, shake it off, dance your dance and be you.

Rerum Novarumplein 10

Klop klop klop ons huisje is ineengestort,
we hebben boren, vijzen, zagen,
alles wat jullie maar vragen.
En liefst hebben we jullie nabij
om samen te bouwen en te vertrouwen
dat door onze ideeën bij elkaar,
niet enkel ons huisje opnieuw mag bestaan,
maar ook dat van degenen die onder de hemel slapen.
Want de hemel is geen dak
en dit willen we schreeuwen van alle daken.
Boren vijzen zagen, discussiëren en bevragen
Samen eten en visies delen - want wat betekent het om
het recht op de stad terug te willen vragen
Boren vijzen zagen we bouwen aan onze stoet om de nood aan daken en het teveel aan lege kamers aan te kaarten

Paraderend door de straten organiseren we een city parade doorheen het diverse en levendige stadsweefsel van Gent. Van de rand tot in het centrum, verbinden we de Gentse straten, buurten en wijken, en nemen we al dansend en wandelend voor even terug wat we samen delen: de publieke ruimte. Gratis en voor iedereen, want de stad is al duur genoeg.

Het centrum van onze stad is over de jaren heen geëvolueerd naar een plek om te consumeren in plaats van te leven. Wonen, bewegen, spelen, praten met en luisteren naar elkaar worden beetje bij beetje weggeduwd uit onze stadsruimtes die steeds meer gedomineerd worden door machtspelletjes, carrières, (over)consumptie en (massa)toerisme. Gent-rificatie duwt mensen naar de stadsrand, en worden daar maar al te vaak vergeten. Huisjes worden schaamteloos gemolken, tot ook zij leeg komen te staan. En al investerend wordt men slapend rijk, terwijl anderen dag en nacht wakker liggen.

Al dansend, al zingend, al springend! En liefst samen met jullie. Dus verkondig het van de daken, en kom mee dansen, bewegen, springen en zingen! “Dakdak pour tous” Dakdakdakdakdakdakdakdak…

DakDak maakt plek voor ideeën, organisaties en collectieven. Heb jij een idee op wielen om toe te voegen aan onze stoet? Een dansende stoet die reist van de stadsrand naar het centrum. We zoeken passanten, buurtbewoners, vrienden, muzikanten, makers, dansers, performers die een beweeglijke scenografie, performance, koets, interventie, ... willen uitwerken.

We stampen en bonken op de deuren
Maak plaats! Het kan, het moet gebeuren!
Voor betaalbaar wonen en kwalitatief huren!
Voor een waardig bestaan voor

Dit is de schaamte voorbij
Het moet gedaan zijn met misnoegd gluren
Een dak boven je hoofd, een bed om te slapen, een do**he een kast een frigo een tafel een stoel voor iedereen!
