Rock ’n Load Concerts vzw is a non-profit organisation promoting underground concerts since 2007 in and around Aalst, in the centre of Belgium. During those eight years we have booked about 150 shows with 250+ bands, both Belgian locals and foreign touring bands. Mostly punkrock, hardcore, ska, (thrash) metal, rock, psychobilly, rockabilly, … but also acoustic or more poppy stuff, as long as it’s played with heart & soul! We promote 3 annual fests:
- Oilsjt Omploft Fest (Aalst - punk/thrash/hardcore – march – 500 ppl)
- Loco Loco Fest (Merchtem - punk/hardcore/psychobilly/… - june – 400ppl)
- Skalloween Festival (Aalst - ska + afterparty – 31/10 – 600ppl)

Oilsjt Omploft is a co-production with vzw Hambiance, Loco Loco Fest with vzw Loco Loco. We worked with bands as:

Al meer dan twintig jaar verlegt Peaches de grenzen van popmuziek, performance en genderexpressie. Met haar compromisloze houding en uitgesproken podiumprésence groeide de Canadese muzikant en performer uit tot een van de meest invloedrijke stemmen binnen de hedendaagse muziekcultuur.
Teaches of Peaches volgt de artieste tijdens de voorbereiding van de twintigste jubileumtour van The Teaches of Peaches, het album waarmee ze begin jaren 2000 definitief doorbrak. Aan de hand van archiefmateriaal, repetities, backstagebeelden en energieke concertregistraties schetst de documentaire een portret van een kunstenaar die muziek consequent inzet als ruimte voor experiment, provocatie en emancipatie.
Dit programma sluit aan bij Songs of Dissent, de tentoonstelling in NW die de politieke en sociale kracht van muziek onderzoekt.

BAND: SAUMON SAUVAGE
Vette rock voor vette vissen.
Met vinnige riffs, doordrenkte drums en baslijnen en een krassig sirenegeluid dat soms hoorbaar kabbelt langs de Dender of langs de Zenne, zwemt het Aalsters/Brusselse Saumon Sauvage stroomopwaarts en bezweert zodanig uw nekwervels dat ook zij niet anders kunnen dan meedeinen op de golven van een brok harde herrie. Saumon Sauvage wijdt zich volledig aan zijn liefde voor post-grunge/punkelementen, aan het zweet waarin makrelen na een show zwemmen en aan de goesting om op een podium te smelten. The sound of (local) punks today.

SONGS OF DISSENT
- Expo x Film x Concert -

Op woensdag 9 september start een 7-delige reeks punk/metal/hardcore docu’s op het grote scherm van Netwerk, Aalst.

Naast docu’s van Turnstile, Destruction, Crass, The Decline of Western Civilization,… zijn er na de film ook gratis concerten van Loud Love, The Nutters, Saumon Sauvage, Detax, Blackland Bandits & een Q&A met Destruction-gitarist Martin Furia.

Voor de film zijn er expo’s over de legendarische Aalsterse punkorganisatoren Smurfpunx en van Dennis Tyfus. Ism met die laatste is er mits reservatie ook een “No Choice”-restaurant.

FILM
In The Decline of Western Civilization richt filmmaker Penelope Spheeris haar camera op de punkscene van Los Angeles aan het einde van de jaren zeventig. Zonder voice-over of verklarende interviews volgt ze optredens, repetities en gesprekken met muzikanten en bezoekers uit een scene die zich afzet tegen de dominante cultuur en haar eigen regels creëert.
Met legendarische concertregistraties van onder meer Black Flag, X, Germs, Circle Jerks, Fear en Alice Bag Band groeide de film uit tot een van de meest invloedrijke muziekdocumentaires ooit gemaakt

CONCERT: BLACKLAND BANDITS
Na jarenlange dienst in bands als Silence Means Death, Fart, Freddie and the Vangrails, Feed The Tumör, Netra, … bracht de liefde voor streetpunk en oi dit viertal samen in Blackland Bandits. Ook na ontelbare kilometers op de tourteller nemen ze dit nieuwe project, met het enthousiasme van een jong veulen, op tour langs het Europese punknetwerk. Bassist Jos zorgt terzijde ook voor de Alosta Punk Connection.
In samenwerking met Rock ’n Load Aalst.
