The Panel discussion of Rickshaw Art Festival 2026 took place on 31 January 2026 on the theme “How Can We Preserve Rickshaw and Cinema Art & Promote It Globally?”.The panel featured Dr. Abdul Hannan Chowdhury (Vice Chancellor, North South University & Chairman, Grameen Bank), Rezauddin Stalin (Director General, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy), Luva Nahid Chowdhury (Director, Bengal Foundation), Susan Vize (Head of Office, UNESCO Bangladesh), Redoan Rony (CEO, Chorki & Advisor, Shei Dhaka) & Sumaina Abedin (President, One Culture Foundation).

Following the discussion, Navid Hasan, Managing Director of Awake Coffee Roasters, shared his vision of connecting Rickshaw Art with his brand and promoting this heritage globally. The session was further enriched by the presence of renowned rickshaw artists including Hanif Mohammed Pappu, Syed Ahmed, and many master artists who created and shaped this iconic art form without any training.

Organised by Shei Dhaka in collaboration with NSUAPC and proudly sponsored by Awake Coffee Roasters, the festival celebrated the vibrant journey of Rickshaw Art - our streets, our stories, our heritage.

On the first and second day of the Rickshaw Art Festival, a Rickshaw & Cinema Art Workshop was held at the Upper Gallery of North South University in partnership with One Culture.

Legendary rickshaw artist Syed Ahmed, along with other experienced artists, conducted an engaging workshop for the new generation on Bangladesh’s UNESCO-recognised folk art.

The session focused on preserving, documenting, and passing forward the vibrant tradition of rickshaw and cinema art—ensuring that this living heritage continues to inspire future artists. 🎨✨
