We’ve seen incredible talent over the course of this camp, and the top performers are now one step closer to represent Bangladesh at the International Economics Olympiad 2026 in Suzhou, China! 🇨🇳📉

Economics Study Center (ESC) proudly presents 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗢𝗹𝘆𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗮𝗱, a battle of wits where students from high school and university compete to showcase their mastery of micro and macroeconomics.

This competition is not just for Economics students! If you're a 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 with a passion for economics or a 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 eager to explore the world of markets, policies, and decision-making—this is the event for you! EconQuest: The Economics Olympiad welcomes students from high school, college, and university to compete in this grand celebration of intellect.

𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀:
• Written Round: April 8, 2026 | 2:00 PM
• Final Round (University only): April 9, 2026 | 9:30 AM
Note that the timings may be subject to change.
📌 The preliminary written round will be held offline at Department of Economics,Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Dhaka,
📌There will be two sections in the written exam round.
Section A consists of compulsory Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) carrying a total of 80 marks. Each correct answer will be awarded 4 marks, while each incorrect answer will result in a deduction of 1 mark. Unanswered questions will receive no marks. Answers must be indicated by placing a tick (✓) on the correct option. Selecting more than one option will render the response invalid.
Section B comprises open-ended questions with a total of 30 marks. Out of 5 questions, participants are required to answer any 3. Each question carries 10 marks. If more than 3 questions are attempted, only 3 will be evaluated and the answer with the highest score will be excluded.
The total marks for the examination are 110.
📌 Selected participants from this round will qualify to compete in the final round.
📌 The use of calculators will not be allowed.

• High School and College (Class 9–12) – Written Round
• University (1st & 2nd Year) – Written & Final Round

𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻?
• HSC Examinee students can participate in the High School category.
• Open to all curriculums – NCTB, Edexcel, Cambridge, or any other!
• Only 1st & 2nd-year university students can join the University category.

𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀:
1. 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐲
• 1 written round consisting of 20 Situational Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQ) and 5 Open-Ended Questions.
• Top 3 participants from this round will be awarded.
2. 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐲 (𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫)
• 1 written round comprising 20 Situational MCQs and 5 Open-Ended Questions.
• Top 5 participants from this round will proceed to the final round.
3. 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐲
• Visual Cue Challenge: Participants will deliver a compelling 2-minute speech based on a visual prompt.
• The Hot Seat: Contestants will face a panel of judges, answering thought-provoking questions on economics.
𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗻:
• Microeconomics: Demand and Supply, Consumer's choice, Government Intervention, Market failure, Game theory and Firm behavior.
• Macroeconomics: National Income, Inflation, Unemployment, Fiscal policy, Monetary policy, Institutions and Inequality.
• Related field knowledge: Nobel-winning research and real-life applications
