Update regarding the BUBT Cube Open 2026 T-shirt Fiasco
We, Speedcubing Bangladesh, sincerely apologize for failing to provide t-shirts during BUBT Cube Open 2026. Our t-shirt partner (T-Scotik) failed to provide us with the t-shirts on time. After the competition, we have decided to cancel the partnership with T-Scotik, and we filed for a refund for reasons that will be explained in this post. For this reason, we regret to inform all participants that we won’t be able to provide you with the t-shirts.
The Background:
Our trainee delegate Farhan Labib is a business partner of T-Scotik. From this point, this post will refer to Farhan Labib and T-Scotik as the same entity. Through Farhan Labib, we had an agreement with T-Scotik about a t-shirt deal for this competition. We paid our portion of the deal on 7th April, 2026. 30 days before the first day of the competition. (see attached screenshot)
Day 1 of the competition (7th May, 2026):
Farhan Labib said that he put in the order the previous day (6th may) and the factory was supposed to print the t-shirts during the night. But due to load shedding, there was no power in the factory to run the machines, and subsequently, they could not print the t-shirts. But, he assured us that t-shirts will be printed during that day, and the order will be delivered the next day.
Day 2 of the competition (8th May, 2026):
In the morning, Farhan Labib said to us that the order is complete, but no one in the factory is answering his phone calls. He went to the factory himself in the afternoon, and came back before the awards ceremony without a single t-shirt. He said he had banged on the factory doors, but no one answered.
The days after:
He said that the factory didn’t take his order seriously and only printed 37 of the 125 t-shirts. He suggested 3 options to us:
He’d personally bear the cost of delivering t-shirts to each participant.
He’d print t-shirts for a different competition in the future and deliver then.
We can cancel the order and get a refund.
Our decision:
We have decided to cancel the order and get a refund. We were supposed to get the refund by 24th May, 2026. But we haven’t received a single paisa.
Our Rationale for cancellation:
We constantly received mixed messages from Farhan Labib. One time we hear the t-shirts are done, the next time we hear that only 37 t-shirts are printed. By the time this post is made public, we have not seen proof that a single t-shirt was printed. This constant dilly dallying compelled us to cancel the order and file for a refund.
As Farhan Labib failed to provide the refund by 24th may, we think he would not have been able to deliver Options 1 and 2 had we picked any of them.
Next Steps:
We decided to keep the 37 printed t-shirts as collateral until the refund is made. Farhan Labib is supposed to get us the t-shirts by 5th June 2026, and refund us by 10th June. Failure to refund us by 10th june will result in us considering this as theft and taking legal actions against Farhan Labib.
Conclusion:
We sincerely apologize again to all the participants of the competition. We would be more vigilant in choosing our partners for future competitions.

আমরা, Speedcubing Bangladesh, বিইউবিটি কিউব ওপেন ২০২৬-এ টি-শার্ট সরবরাহ করতে না পারার জন্য আন্তরিকভাবে ক্ষমাপ্রার্থনা করছি। আমাদের টি-শার্ট পার্টনার (T-Scotik) যথাসময়ে আমাদের টি-শার্ট দিতে ব্যর্থ হয়েছে। প্রতিযোগিতা শেষ হওয়ার পর আমরা টি-স্কোটিক-এর সাথে আমাদের চুক্তি বাতিল করার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছি এবং রিফান্ড (টাকা ফেরত)-এর জন্য আবেদন করেছি, যার কারণ নিচে বিস্তারিত ব্যাখ্যা করা হলো। এই অনাকাঙ্ক্ষিত পরিস্থিতির কারণে আমরা অত্যন্ত দুঃখের সাথে সকল প্রতিযোগীদের জানাচ্ছি যে, আমরা আপনাদের টি-শার্টগুলো সরবরাহ করতে পারছি না।
পটভূমি:
আমাদের ট্রেইনি ডেলিগেট ফারহান লাবিব হলেন টি-স্কোটিক-এর একজন বিজনেস পার্টনার। এই পোস্টের পরবর্তী অংশে আমরা ফারহান লাবিব এবং টি-স্কোটিক-কে একই পক্ষ হিসেবে উল্লেখ করব। ফারহান লাবিবের মাধ্যমে আমরা এই প্রতিযোগিতার টি-শার্টের চুক্তির বিষয়ে টি-স্কোটিক-এর সাথে একটি চুক্তিতে আসি। আমরা চুক্তির আমাদের অংশের টাকা গত ৭ই এপ্রিল, ২০২৬ তারিখে পরিশোধ করি—যা প্রতিযোগিতার প্রথম দিনের ঠিক ৩০ দিন আগে (সংযুক্ত স্ক্রিনশটটি দেখুন)।
প্রতিযোগিতার ১ম দিন (৭ই মে, ২০২৬):
ফারহান লাবিব আমাদের জানান যে তিনি আগের দিন (৬ই মে) অর্ডারটি দিয়েছেন এবং রাতে ফ্যাক্টরিতে টি-শার্ট প্রিন্ট হওয়ার কথা ছিল। কিন্তু লোডশেডিংয়ের কারণে ফ্যাক্টরিতে মেশিন চালানোর মতো বিদ্যুৎ ছিল না, যার ফলে তারা টি-শার্টগুলো প্রিন্ট করতে পারেনি। তবে, তিনি আমাদের আশ্বাস দেন যে ওই দিনই টি-শার্টগুলো প্রিন্ট করা হবে এবং পরের দিন অর্ডারটি বুঝিয়ে দেওয়া হবে।
প্রতিযোগিতার ২য় দিন (৮ই মে, ২০২৬):
সকালে ফারহান লাবিব আমাদের বলেন যে অর্ডারটি সম্পন্ন হয়েছে, কিন্তু ফ্যাক্টরির কেউ তার ফোন ধরছে না। তিনি বিকেলে নিজেই ফ্যাক্টরিতে যান এবং পুরস্কার বিতরণী অনুষ্ঠানের ঠিক আগে একটি টি-শার্টও ছাড়াই ফিরে আসেন। তিনি জানান যে তিনি ফ্যাক্টরির দরজায় নক করেছিলেন/ধাক্কা দিয়েছিলেন, কিন্তু ভেতর থেকে কেউ সাড়া দেয়নি।
প্রতিযোগিতার পরবর্তী দিনগুলো:
পরবর্তীতে তিনি জানান যে, ফ্যাক্টরি তার অর্ডারটিকে গুরুত্ব সহকারে নেয়নি এবং ১২৫টি টি-শার্টের মধ্যে মাত্র ৩৭টি টি-শার্ট প্রিন্ট করেছে। এরপর তিনি আমাদের সামনে ৩টি বিকল্প প্রস্তাব (Options) রাখেন:
১. তিনি ব্যক্তিগতভাবে প্রতিটি প্রতিযোগীর কাছে টি-শার্ট পৌঁছে দেওয়ার খরচ বহন করবেন।
২. তিনি ভবিষ্যতের অন্য কোনো প্রতিযোগিতার জন্য টি-শার্ট প্রিন্ট করে তা সরবরাহ করবেন।
৩. আমরা অর্ডারটি বাতিল করে রিফান্ড (টাকা ফেরত) নিতে পারি।
আমাদের সিদ্ধান্ত:
আমরা অর্ডারটি বাতিল করার এবং রিফান্ড নেওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত নিই। গত ২৪শে মে, ২০২৬ তারিখের মধ্যে আমাদের রিফান্ড পাওয়ার কথা ছিল। কিন্তু আমরা এখনও একটি পয়সাও ফেরত পাইনি।
চুক্তি বাতিলের কারণ:
আমরা ফারহান লাবিবের কাছ থেকে ক্রমাগত একেক সময় একেক রকম (পরস্পরবিরোধী) বক্তব্য পেয়েছি। একবার আমরা শুনলাম টি-শার্টের কাজ শেষ, আবার তার পরদিনই শুনলাম মাত্র ৩৭টি টি-শার্ট প্রিন্ট হয়েছে। এই পোস্টটি প্রকাশ করা পর্যন্ত, একটি টি-শার্টও যে আসলেই প্রিন্ট হয়েছে—তার কোনো প্রমাণ আমরা দেখিনি। এই ক্রমাগত টালবাহানার কারণেই আমরা অর্ডারটি বাতিল করতে এবং রিফান্ডের আবেদন করতে বাধ্য হয়েছি। যেহেতু ফারহান লাবিব ২৪শে মে-র মধ্যে রিফান্ড দিতে ব্যর্থ হয়েছেন, তাই আমাদের ধারণা—আমরা যদি ১ বা ২ নম্বর বিকল্প প্রস্তাব দুটি বেছে নিতাম, তাহলেও তিনি তা পূরণ করতে পারতেন না।
পরবর্তী পদক্ষেপ:
টাকা রিফান্ড না হওয়া পর্যন্ত আমরা ওই ৩৭টি প্রিন্ট হওয়া টি-শার্ট জামানত (Collateral) হিসেবে নিজেদের কাছে রাখার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছি। ফারহান লাবিবের আগামী ৫ই জুন, ২০২৬ তারিখের মধ্যে টি-শার্টগুলো আমাদের কাছে পৌঁছে দেওয়ার কথা এবং ১০ই জুনের মধ্যে আমাদের টাকা রিফান্ড করার কথা রয়েছে। আগামী ১০ই জুনের মধ্যে টাকা রিফান্ড করতে ব্যর্থ হলে, আমরা এটিকে প্রতারণা/চুরি হিসেবে গণ্য করব এবং ফারহান লাবিবের বিরুদ্ধে আইনগত ব্যবস্থা নিতে বাধ্য হব।
পরিশেষ:
আমরা প্রতিযোগিতার সকল অংশগ্রহণকারীদের কাছে আবারও আন্তরিকভাবে ক্ষমাপ্রার্থনা করছি। ভবিষ্যতের প্রতিযোগিতাগুলোর জন্য পার্টনার বা সহযোগী নির্বাচন করার ক্ষেত্রে আমরা আরও অনেক বেশি সতর্ক ও সচেতন থাকব।
