Thanks to everyone who joined us for the KAR Garage Meet - it was lovely to meet you all! And a special shoutout to our Sydneysiders for making the trek down to Canberra.

A big thank you also to Canberra BMW Motorrad for providing the superb venue and to The Bike Butler Sydney for bringing the Mosko Moto pop-up experience.

For all who want to join the social ride from Sydney area to the KAR Garage Meet in Canberra this Saturday 13th June, the meeting points and times are:

McDonald’s Thornleigh
Starting point
Leaving 7:30am

Pheasants Nest Ampol (Southbound)
2nd meeting point
Leaving 9:00am

Mittagong McDonald’s
3rd and final meeting point
Leaving 9:45am

Then heading via the dirt and back roads to Yass and across to Canberra. GPX will be available for those intending to come.

Another one of the 140 oversized loads delivering components for the Snowy 2.0 hydro-power project was captured by our crew during route checking for our recent Snowy Mountains Adventure Ride for Charity.

Here the cutterhead component for Snowy Hydro's 12-metre-diameter hard rock Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) called Monica is making its way through the main street of Cooma for the final leg of a late-night journey from Port Kembla to the remote assembly worksite near Kiandra.

All the moves were a sight to behold - but for the most epic of moves - take a look also at our other footage captured last October!

We were thrilled to see many of the scheme's structures during our charity ride last month, including at Tantangara Dam with the entry point of the 17-kilometre headrace tunnel that will channel water from Tantangara Reservoir through underground tunnels to the underground power station.

The newly commissioned TBM Monica is purpose-built for the highly variable geology of the Snowy Mountains and will be excavating the portion of tunnel that passes through the geologically challenging Long Plain Fault Zone.

Meanwhile, almost one kilometre underground at the project’s Lobs Hole worksite, the focus is on preparation of the intricate fit-out of a complex underground power plant the size of Sydney Opera House!
