BachBand@StJames works with the expert team of choral soloist, collegiate style Choir of St James King St, who sing and commission work from Tallis & Victoria to contemporary composers from all cultures and places. Formed by Nicole Forsyth, artistic curator, in response to Music Director Warren Trevalyn-Jones and the Choir of St James King St Sydney's interest in regularly presenting JS Bach's Cantatas in a liturgical context, (one Sunday every month - and these are nominally 'free' or 'by plate donation', which means its very accessible to everyone in Sydney) which also provides an oasis of meditation in music for those who enjoy respite from a busy city life, BachBand@StJames connects music, context, story, people and place through historical and new Australian work.
