🎥 Community Conversations w' Legendary Humans of the Northern Beaches...
Pamela Fayle: From the World Stage to Woolgoolga’s Heart
From international diplomacy to Curryfest committees, Pam Fayle’s life has been defined by service.
In this new Woopi News interview w' Tegan Swan, Pam reflects on her remarkable career representing Australia across the globe. Including postings in Japan and Germany and her time as Ambassador to Germany, Switzerland and Liechtenstein; before settling in Arrawarra nearly twenty years ago.
Now deeply involved in our local community, Pam is Chair of the Woolgoolga Curryfest Committee, a long-time Rotary Club of Woolgoolga member, musician with the Coffs Harbour City Orchestra, active with the Woolgoolga Gallery, and a familiar face at countless community events.
She shares insights on leadership, volunteering, and the importance of protecting Woolgoolga’s character as the town grows:
“You don’t want to lose that friendly small-town feel or the multicultural mix that makes us who we are. Change and growth are inevitable, but it’s important locals stay involved so we can guide it.”
Pam also talks about being one of the few women in senior diplomatic roles in the early 2000s, leading crisis response teams during the Bali bombings, and the humour and humanity that carried her through decades of service.
