WE THANK YOU!
What a blast Circartus has been having over this term with Gigs.
A big shout out to everyone who made Wingham Music Festival a success!
We started with our FABULOUS FIRE SHOW on the Friday eve and did repeat performances Saturday and Sunday. (Thanks Wallaby Joe Fire Brigade) And ended with the launch of our new stilt costume creature, The Giant Dragon Fly (Petalura Gigantea) at 9pm on the Sunday eve!
With many thanks to the Mid Coast Council Arts Support Grant, Circartus had the pleasure to work with Joedie Saunders to bring this new costume to light. Joedie led the way with a vision and together it came to life. With many hands helping to weave the wings through learning from Joedie, Jeanne on the machine to bring the body to life and Kenji designing and printing the eyes!
It was delightful to see many hands and minds adding the finishing touches to the eyes over the festival days in the pavilion!! Nothing like a deadline in show bizz to add a bit of “buzz”!!
Thankyou to all the weavers, but I need to give a special shout out to the steadfast weavers who came to most working bees: Arwen, Nyssa, Vera, Frankie and Lauren. We have lessons that were learnt during this process to apply to the creation of the second dragonfly.
At the festival, there were also awesome appearances of our Music Box Dancers, Our Blue Banded Bees, and our “top and tails” characters (with thanks to costumes donated to Circartus from Circus West-( a circus program in Dubbo NSW). Our Circus Playground featured as well over the festival Weekend.

Other events that we were featured at…….Laneway 2025 in Kempsey, (thank you all: Ruby, Miche, Arwen, Shellbi, Eden, Lu-Lu, Lauren, Frankie, Arzia, Sebastian, Frankie W and Frankie F, Charlotte, Gemma, Jenna, Hunter, Gabby, Leo. To Erin, Kenji, Nyssa and Ros for providing transport help for all our gear! Nyssa and Berni for support crew stuff. To Silas for fire safety support and all the families for being such supportive peeps.
Mini Summer Festival at the Manning Valley Neighbourhood Service was fabulous…Thanks Arzia, Sebastian, (Musical masters on stilts!!!) Lu-Lu and Frankie. Thankyou Amanda from Street Tunes, Kate, Hannah x 2 and Kerrie from MVNS for hosting us so fabulously!
and the Manning River Turtle Hackathon at Midcoast Council.
The turtles were received in such an amazing way. Thank You Hunter and Lauren for being superb turtle creatures……and for support crew, Ros, Miche and Clare.
