West Footscray Festival of Colours 2026

The West Footscray Festival of Colours is back for another vibrant celebration of community, culture and colour.

Presented by Sims IGA Plus Liquor West Footscray and myself, this much loved event brings together families, friends and visitors from across Melbourne to celebrate the spirit of Holi, the Indian festival of colours.

Time: 11am to 5pm
Location: IGA Car Park, 512 Barkly Street, West Footscray

While the festival is usually held along Barkly Street, this year we are creating an exciting festival hub in the IGA car park, packed with colour, music and entertainment all day long.

The highlight of the festival is the joyful colour throwing celebration, where crowds come together in a burst of vibrant colour, laughter and celebration.

Throughout the day you can enjoy a huge range of family friendly entertainment, including:

• Colour throwing celebrations
• Activities for kids
• Market stalls and local traders
• Craft activities and kids entertainment
• Free Face painting for kids and henna available
• Live music and stage performances
• DJs and cultural performances
• Delicious food trucks and street food
• Roving performers bringing colour and energy throughout the festival
• Community stalls and activities

To add to the fun, free colour packs will be handed out randomly throughout the day, so keep an eye out and be ready to join in the celebration.

Whether you are coming with family, friends or the whole neighbourhood, the Festival of Colours promises a joyful day full of music, culture and colour for everyone.

🌈 FESTIVAL OF COLOURS - HOLI - SEE YOU SOON! 🎉

Good morning, everyone!

The Colour Festival kicks off at 11 AM, and we can’t wait to welcome you all for a day full of fun, music, and vibrant celebrations!

☀️ Weather Update: It’s set to be a lovely 20°C, so remember to slip, slop, slap, slide, and hydrate throughout the day!

💡 Friendly Reminder:
• While the colors wash off most clothes, they may stain pearl and other porous jewelry—so best to leave those at home!
• Pets are welcome, and the event is disability-access friendly.
• Our colors are 100% safe—made from food-grade arrowroot and corn starch with edible food color dye (non-toxic and skin-safe).
• the colors are available at our official colours stall near the stage and due to safety reasons outside colours are not permitted

Barkly Village will be closed off and the bus diversion is in place from 8 AM till 9 PM in the evening. The traffic is being diverted down Russell Street onto Cross Street and then onto Warleigh Rd.
