Algal Bloom – South Coast Update
We’re aware of current concerns about the algal bloom along parts of the South Coast. Many of us kayak, run and walk through the Ratalang (Bashams Beach) area regularly and have experienced no ill effects, but we also recognise that algal blooms can affect people differently.
We’ve been officially advised that the bloom is currently all but non-existent in Middleton and Port Elliot, though of course conditions can change and it’s hard to predict exactly what event day might bring.
For some context, the Victor Harbor parkrun — which uses a direct coastal track — recorded nearly 400 runners last weekend, suggesting conditions have been suitable for outdoor activity.
Fingers crossed that Ratalang remains unaffected and that everyone can enjoy a great, safe day out on the course. 🌊🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Ratalang Course Exploration – Tomorrow Morning 🌅
A few locals will be out on course tomorrow at 6:40am for an exploration loop of the Ratalang course.
If you’re keen to tag along, meet at 6:30am so we can head off together.
Easy pace, good company, and a great chance to get familiar with the course as the sun comes up. All welcome!

You would have 34days of training should you choose to enter. But enter you must -
12 hour run
