The team at Johansen Wines have made a few tweaks to tomorrow’s vineyard tour — and it sounds even sweeter than before!
Instead of digging for worms (they’ve gone into hiding during this dry spell), you’ll be learning how microbes are being used to boost sap sugar levels and help the vines fight off pests naturally.
It’s all part of their regenerative approach to farming — less chemicals, more balance, and a whole lot of fascinating insight into how great wine starts in healthy soil.
Free vineyard tour and tasting, 10am Saturday and Sunday. Kids welcome (just not for the tasting part!).
Looks like Mother Nature’s having the last laugh on us this week! We know plenty of you were keen to dig up worms tomorrow, but this dry spell has them hiding deep underground.
So, we’re shifting gears — and it’s something much sweeter (literally).
Tomorrow’s vineyard tour will dive into how we’re using microbes to boost sap sugar levels and help the vines fight off pests naturally. It’s all part of our regenerative approach — moving away from insecticides and harsh chemicals, and letting the good bugs take care of the bad ones.
It’s fascinating stuff — and we promise, no worms required.
Tour starts at 10am, free entry, all welcome — kids too (just not for the wine tasting part!).
