Trays out of the oven this morning. Canapés set by hand this afternoon. A plate finished 30 seconds before it left the kitchen.

Not brought in for the night. Made in this building, by a team who cook in it every week.

Serving hundreds at the same moment, at the same temperature, is the hardest thing a kitchen can be asked to do. It is also the thing this building was made for.

Every finish chosen by the two of them. They are the ones behind the scenes, pulling every event together with a team of experienced professionals.

Every decision in this building was made from a guest's point of view.

Whether there is somewhere quiet to step away when the dance floor is full. How the room feels at 9pm when the lights come down. What you see when the doors open. Where you park.

The pause before you walk out. The 10 minutes after the ceremony when it is finally just the two of you. The breather halfway through the night, shoes off, before you go back in.

Mizizi Yetu, Hatima Yetu. Our roots, our future.

We recently hosted the Tamaduni Festival, brought to Melrose Events by . Dinner for 600. A dance floor that filled the second the music started. Traditional dress in every colour under the lights. Tamaduni means culture in Swahili, and you could feel it in every corner of the room.

Thank you to KCV for trusting us with this special event.
