Information for competitors ๐ฃ
With the event kicking off in a little over 24 hours, please see below some useful information ahead of the event. This post will continue to be updated if any further questions are raised.
โ Canberra Open 2025 is a TBA accredited event, all bowlers are required to be TBA members prior to competing in the event and all TBA rules and regulations will apply.
โ Bowlers will be allocated a lane for each qualifying squad, all 3 games will be bowled on the same pair.
โ All attempts have been made to ensure no bowler hits the same pair twice in qualifying, however this may become unavoidable for those doing multiple re-entries.
โ Bowlers need to only give way to 1 lane either side of them.
โ If the event remains on time, all squads will go onto practice approximately 5 minutes after check in has closed.
โ Ball surface changes can be made in between squads for qualifying and rounds for finals. Once the first frame is bowled, no adjustments can be made until that squad / round is complete. Adjustment can be made throughout practice.
โ All cash prizes other than 1st place and squad leaders will be paid by EFT with details to be provided throughout the weekend as needed.
โ Entries will continue to be accepted where places are available, all the way up to the last squad commencing. Additional entries throughout the weekend can either be paid through EFT confirmation, or in cash if preferred.
โ A ball paddock will be provided by Zone Bowling Tuggeranong for bowlers to store equipment throughout the event. The venue asks that no bags are left in walkways at any time. To keep squads running as smooth as possible, we ask bowlers to remove their equipment from the pair as quickly as they are able to (e.g. immediately if not continuing to bowl, or as soon as your next bowling pair is known).
โ Photos and videos will be taken throughout the event and shared on social media and the NSWRBT website. If you would rather you were not included in any of this please inform the Tournament Director.
โ Live scoring throughout the weekend will be found on the page linked below. Please keep in mind that scoring may be done by those that are also bowling, so this will be as close to "live" as it can be.
โ The Tournament Director for Canberra Open 2025 is Michael Craig, direct any questions or concerns to him in the first instance (please consider that he may also be bowling at the time). Nathaniel Mason and Ian Mungovan make up the other 2 members of the Tournament Committee.
Shirt orders are now closed, a further order may be placed following the event if there is enough interest. Pricing will depend on the level of interest and will be between $55 and $65 a shirt.
