The Stable NQ Welcome to The Stable NQ where our guests experience the Christmas Story of the birth of Jesus. The Stable NQ is Townsville's Christmas Festival!

Each year The Townsville City Council and The Combined Churches of Townsville work together to create a FREE family friendly event celebrating Christmas. We invite you to experience the Christmas Story with us! Stable 2022 will again bring a gift to the people of Townsville bringing hope, life and meaning this Christmas season. For 18 years Stable has been North Queensland‘s Christmas Festival, a signature event held at Strand Park, Townsville for 5 nights from 18-22nd December and attended by 40,000 people. We have re-created the Christmas story in the town of Bethlehem with live animals, convincing actors, authentic props, a real Baby Jesus and heaps of activities for the whole family. In 2020 we created a Covid safe drive by event called Stable on the Streets. The Christmas message was brought alive across this city through, Christmas scenes, stars, lights and performances and in 2021 again with Covid in mind we moved to Riverway. In 2022, our 21st year, we will again and bring Stable Riverway. It’s a much larger space, where we can have heaps of different activities, attract new people but still have all our favourite scenes and props to tell the wonderful story of Christmas. Our Motto is: “By our love”

What a turn out! Last weekend we had a MONSTROUS turn out to our monster garage sale! 🏷️

We are BEYOND grateful to all the volunteers that helped pack up AND pack down, the sausage sizzlers, the labellers, the bake sale attenders, the ticketers, the clean up crew and all the unseen work behind the scenes.
THANK YOU!

A special shout out to The Battle Initiative Foundation for helping out with security and Aitkenvale Uniting Church for letting us use your venue and Ace Mini Skips for being our handy help to clean up.

A huge thanks to the all who supported stablenq garage sale. All the amazing sore footed volunteers, everyone who so generously donated, all the wonderful bakers and the crowds who poured into the site. We were quite overwhelmed, amazed and delighted by the response. Total takings currently standing at $7200 but with a few more marketplace sales we would hope to reach $8,000 to help run stable in the city 2026. And always thanks to our dear Jesus whose presence we saw and felt throughout the event.
