May is Small Business Month and with over 500,000 small businesses in Queensland you don't have to go far to find someone who works at, or runs a small business.

As a previous small business operator myself, I know how many hours go into keeping the business running and have experienced many of the challenges that small businesses face.

Networking events like The Table NQ offer an opportunity to meet fellow small business operators, share experiences and strategies to combat many of these challenges and, if nothing else, reassures small business operators they are not alone.

It was a privilege to have these important conversations in our space.

Songlines and trade routes once connected mob right across this coastline, and that spirit was alive in the room last week at our Townsville Regional Dialogue.

Mob here were clear: the Alliance needs to be Traditional Owners at their own table, leading the conversation and looking after Sea Country on their own terms.

From Elders leadership and governance to getting young people out on Country, every yarn is helping shape what this Alliance can and should be.

Our Engagement Team are out on the road and will continue to yarn with communities about Alliance and the important steps we need to take to get there.
