We're on a mission to make the 2026 Townsville Folk Festival our most sustainable festival yet — and we need your help! ♻️

🥤 Bring your own cup, bowl, plate or container
💧 Refill your water bottle at our free water stations

Last year, our incredible festival community helped prevent 12 tonnes of waste from going to landfill by using reusable cups and containers. 🤯💚

The countdown is on! In just one week, the gates will open at 10:00am on Friday 12 June for the 35th Townsville Folk Festival at Foots Hill Station, Reid River.

It's time to dust off the camping gear and get ready for an unforgettable weekend of music, community, workshops, camping, and festival fun!

🏕️ Bring your tent, swag, caravan or campervan
🧥 Pack warm clothes and hats – winter nights can be chilly
🔥 Campfires are welcome but must be contained, with two buckets of water nearby at all times
🍽️ Bring your own crockery and cutlery to help us reduce waste and support our sustainability goals

The full picture of the 35th Townsville Folk Festival is now complete with the the Sunday 14 June Program!

After an incredible weekend of music, workshops, connection and celebration, Sunday brings a chance to slow down, soak it all in and enjoy some truly special festival moments before we farewell another year at Foots Hill.

Sunday highlights include:

🧘 Start the day with Live and Breathe Yoga with Allison, the perfect way to awaken the body, clear the mind and embrace the peaceful atmosphere that makes Sunday at Folk Fest so special.

📖 Settle in for the Festival’s Traditional Poets Breakfast, one of the Townsville Folk Festival’s longest-running and most cherished traditions. Enjoy a morning of storytelling, poetry, laughter and reflection as festival favourites and emerging voices share their words to begin the final day.

🎤 Head to the Jam Tin for Rising Stars: In Conversation, featuring Late November and Tropical Low. Hear from two of North Queensland’s most exciting acts as they share stories, experiences and insights into their musical journeys.

🎪 The ever-popular Circus Revolt! rolls into the CircUP Kids Space, bringing high-energy entertainment, circus skills and plenty of laughs for festival-goers of all ages.

🎸 Across the stages you’ll find one last day of incredible music, workshops, markets, family activities and those spontaneous festival moments that often become the memories we treasure most.

❤️ As the weekend draws to a close, we’ll gather for the Closing Ceremony, celebrating the artists, volunteers, crew and festival community that make the Townsville Folk Festival such a special place year after year.

David Flower takes the stage to close out the 35th Townsville Folk Festival. If you’ve been around Folk Fest before, you’ll know that Dave rarely arrives alone. Over the years he’s become renowned for assembling festival supergroups, bringing together artists from across the weekend for one final celebration. Exactly who might join him this year? 🎉 SATURDAY’S PROGRAM IS LIVE! 🎉

Yesterday we gave you your first taste of what’s in store with the Friday program. Today we’re turning things up another notch with the drop of the Saturday 13 June Program!

If Friday is the warm-up, then Saturday is when the 35th Townsville Folk Festival hits full stride. From sunrise through to late-night dancing, every corner of Foots Hill Station will be bursting with music, workshops, markets, performances, community and festival magic.

Saturday highlights include:

🎤 The Rising Stars Competition kicks off at 11:00am in the Jam Tin, showcasing the next generation of North Queensland talent. From there, the stage flows into an afternoon packed with emerging local artists, giving festival-goers a chance to discover the future of our music scene.

🎸 A packed schedule in The Hills Shadow Workshop Space, with GOLDHEIST, The Timbers, 33 1/3 and Andy Brassett sharing their knowledge, stories and music.

🏠 We’re excited to welcome Late November home to the Townsville Folk Festival for their first performance of 2026. North Queensland’s favourite sons return to the Mountain Stage, and we couldn’t think of a better place for them to be.

🎭 Bring the whole family along for the colourful Family Parade, before gathering with friends old and new as the excitement builds towards the spectacular Fire Show, one of the festival’s most anticipated Saturday evening traditions.

🖤💛❤️ A full day of culture, connection and conversation across the Homestead, Gathering Space and Blak Arts Market.

🎨 Artisan workshops, family activities, circus performances and plenty of opportunities to get hands-on and create your own festival memories.

🔥 And as the sun goes down, Saturday night delivers some of the biggest performances of the weekend, keeping the dance floor moving well into the evening.
