The Tour of the North and Townsville Cycle Club would like to extend our gratitude to Tiny Mountain Brewery for their support of cycling in Townsville for the last two years 👏🙌

Although the Brewery itself may disappear from everyday Townsville life, it’s memory will always remain alive as our inaugural primary sponsors.

Thanks for the memories 🥰

📣 SAVE THE DATES 📣

The Tour of the North will be back in 2023 on 22-23 July 🎉

Mark it in your calendar, this is an event you don't want to miss!

This post is for the Volunteers (Sponsors Posts to follow...)

Both of the Tours are done and the Club couldn't be happier with the positive comments and feedback we have already recieved. This would not have been possible without our Army of volunteers across the two days of competition and the pre and post-event works. They say many hands make light work, and this was definitlely the case for the weekend.

Thanks go to the Commissaires; Melinda Allen Neil Hamey Dannie Ormonde, Matt Harris, Mark McDonald, Marcus Monteith, Glenys Hyser, Greg Pankhurst, Mandy Doolan and Stephen Lane.

Thank you to our Drivers, Holders, road race Sprint and KOM recorders; Simon Ormes, Gary Smedley, Darren Spina, Damien Damian Crocker (and the doggo), Dave Radford, Dan Ellis, Dan Miller and the Comms mentioned above.

Thank you to our Assistants with toilet drops, barrier construction, pick ups, deliveries and sign ons across the two days; Ethan Harris, Stephanie Launer, Richard Launer and Emma Doolan

The Committee were the back bone of this tour, and the many meetings and late night messaging to get this underway was much appreciated, including their willingness to not only compete, but also to help on the day with all the above tasks. It is a testament to the family environment we are trying to promote. If you have a special shout out to someone that made a difference to you on the weekend, please do so!

This will place bunches of riders in waves according to overall placing in each grade. U9/11/13 will be doing a half Castle only. U15 and above will contest a full Castle Hill climb. Parents will be allowed to drive up to the second most top car park, there will not be any car parking at the very top, as space is limited, as these parks are for the officials.

Massive thank you to all of our Commissaires and Volunteers for a mammoth effort today. It was also terrific to see our sponsors out there getting involved in the racing. Adrian from KALAS Sportswear Australia handing out water bottles and driving Comms, Steve Hedger from Atac Pest Control presenting, Lee Maudsley from ŠKODA Townsville driving the Comms, Simon Ormes from Ormes Project Solutions driving Comms and presenting

Lastly, can everyone please indicate on the event page for the after party that they are attending so we can give them an estimate for catering purposes please. Sleep well everyone, and see you all tomorrow (don't stay up late watching the Tour).

Map location for the Prologue Ross Dam.
Pop in Kelso Dr and Riverway Drive intersection for the Start/Finsih line location. Please do not park on Riverway Drive or near the Dam car park. For those of you who have raced this TT before, our start line has moved up the road a bit because there is a caravan show on at the Dam. Please park on Kelso Drive only, there is plenty of room for your vehicles. The registration tent will be the Townsville Cycle Club tent.
