Tocumwal Fishing Classic The Tocumwal Classic is a family friendly, catch & release comepetition held on the Saturday of the Australia Day long weekend. Max. 250 Entries.

The 'Duck Race' is held between 12pm & 1pm on the day. $10 a duck. Cash prizes of $1000, $500 & $250.

🎣 The Tocumwal Fishing Classic was another success ~ although the heat 🥵 did see lower numbers than the previous two years, we still had just over 100 entrants and some big fish were caught on the day.

THE WINNERS ARE ..
Biggest Murray Cod -
🏆 Michael Pell - 720mm and
🏆 Ruben Flasza (junior) with a whopping 810mm cod

Biggest Yellowbelly ..
🏆 Jayden Purvis - 395mm and
🏆 Heath Mansell (junior) - 460mm

Biggest Trout Cod ..
🏆 Grant O'Donnell - 690mm

Biggest Carp ..
🏆 Helen Simpson - 785mm

Other winners on the day were
🏆 Deacon Fisher (funniest catch when he lost his lure then caught it back again)
🏆 Mystery Length of 620mm went to Greg Purvis
🏆 Peter Lang caught a carp & a turtle at the same time on the same rod
🏆 Ryan Purvis and Darcy Cleve (junior) both landed impressive "stick fish"

It looks like there are a couple of different times promoted.

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS THE CORRECT INFORMATION:

The Ducks will be released as close as possible to
⏰12pm on
📅 Saturday 24th January
📍 They 'race' from the new boat ramp down river and
🦆the 3 winning ducks will be announced ASAP after the race.
🏆Winners will be notified
💰 $1000, $500 & $250 cash prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd respectively

Ten Bucks a Duck ... Ducks are available until sold out. Get them at the Tattersalls Hotel Tocumwal & tomorrow (Sat.) morning our Duck Girls will be roaming the Markets.

Biggest Protected species - Trout Cod & Silver Perch ( 1 x adult & 1 x junior prize each category) Min 400mm
Biggest Carp - 1 prize only
Funniest Catch - 1 prize only
Mystery Length - 1 prize only (length predetermined and will be between 400 & 1000mm)

🦆 Righto Duck Lovers, we haven't forgotten you. The Australia Day Weekend Duck Race will be held between 12 & 1pm on Saturday.
Ducks are available at the Tatts Pub and will be available on Friday night at the registration event, and at the old boat ramp Saturday morning, and if any left, our duck sellers will also be wandering the markets.
First in best dressed - there are 500 ducks available until sold out.
Ten bucks a duck. 1st prize $1,000. 2nd prize $500 and 3rd prize $250. That's cold hard cash, kids. Many ducks have already sold so be quack if you want any. 💰💰💰

Thank you to all involved in helping make yesterday's event a great day.
There are months of planning and hard work behind the scenes and it's satisfying to see it come together.
Unfortunately we can't always rely on technology, particularly at such a busy time in town. Even though every attempt was made to keep on top of entries as received, it was inevitable we ended up with a few issues at the end of the day. We're grateful for your understanding on that front.
Many photos were recieved multiple times and some unfortunately not at all & it took quite a bit of work to sort through them all.

For admin purposes, online registrations will close at midday today (Friday 24th Jan.)

Don't worry though because you can head down to the Tattersalls Hotel Tocumwal from 4pm today and register in person (we will have facility to pay via bank transfer but cash is suggested due to technology sometimes having a meltdown during peak times)

And if you can't make it today, we'll be at the old boat ramp between 5am and 8am Saturday morning (day of the comp).

Ducks for the Duck Race will be available today from 4pm and tomorrow from 5am - 11am or sold out (they will sell out). $10 a duck. $1,000, $500 and $250 cash prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd.
