FORMAT CHANGE COMING TO THE LOCKYER ENDURO!
So, what is changing? Well, almost everything. In 2026, the Lockyer Enduro will become a 6 Hour enduro race, with the competitor that completes the most laps, in the shortest time, crowned the winner!
How will it work?
Basically, the event is going to become a 12.3km lap, Short Course. It will still be split into three (3) sections, over two days. Each section will have a two (2) hour time limit and Competitors must fully complete as many laps as they can before their time is up. If you don't fully complete the lap you are on before the 2 hours is up, it gets deleted and your count and time will be taken from the last lap you did fully complete.
It will still be a round of the Queensland Off Road Championship, which means we have to meet some criteria within the sporting regulations.
So, there will be a minimum of six (6) laps, that must be fully completed in each section, to be classified a finisher. As long as you finish the six (6) laps you are a finisher in that section, no matter what happens after that, even if you break down, you want to stop and save your car or you slow down and run out of time to complete your seventh lap.
There will also be a maximum of eleven (11) laps for each section that competitors can do, if you manage to finish 11 laps, you get the chequered flag for that section, regardless of the time you have left.
This gives competitors an approximate overall race distance between 222km and 405km, depending on how many laps they fully complete.
A Club event will also be run in conjunction with the State Round. It will use the same format, except it will only be two (2) sections, giving competitors an approximate overall race distance between 150km and 270km, depending on the number of laps they fully complete.
The Club event only, can be entered using the Motorsport Australia club licence and we can allow junior competitors to compete as per the requirements in the Motorsport Australia manual.
Competitors may enter either the State Round or the Club Event; you cannot enter both.
We will have more details closer to the event, so save the date, follow the page and stay tuned.
