Drift Collective is done and dusted! Drifting SA hosted the event at its home track, The Bend Motorsport Park, delivering a huge weekend of high-level competitive drifting. There were plenty of mechanical dramas throughout the event, with some cars failing before they even made it onto the track, but that didn’t stop the drivers from putting on an absolute smokeshow for the crowd.

Huge congratulations to our podium finishers:
🥇 1st – Tate Lindstrom, SA
🥈 2nd – Huston Sakkers, SA
🥉 3rd – Matt Harvey, TAS
4th – Joel Donegan, SA

Drifting SA is a not for profit with an amazingly dedicated volunteer crew, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to deliver the event, and we are so grateful for your support of this event 🙌

Every ticket sale keeps us being able to deliver these events, so thank you to those who attended in person, and every driver for their participation!!

Drift Collective - Saturday Layout Reveal

This one is not for the faint hearted!! Think 150km/h entries, scraping the wall down the straight just metres from where the crowds are watching, before drivers throw it into the concrete-walled bowl. It’s fast, technical, and definitely requires no fear.

Spectator tickets available now at driftingsa.com.au/tickets - Park N View is FREE and available all around the track edge.

See you this weekend at the Bend Motorsport Park! ✌️

MEET THE DRIFT COLLECTIVE DRIVERS

Huston Sakkers, South Australia 👋
Car: Midnight Purple R33 Skyline

Huston’s R33 is one of those cars that looks like it could be a tidy street car… right up until it starts beating some of the best drivers on the grid. A serious contender who’s proven himself over the last few rounds of Drift Collective, Huston quietly gets the job done - usually with a cheeky grin.

Asked to explain drifting to a total stranger, Huston keeps it simple: put it on the chip. In other words, commit, send it, and don’t second-guess it.

His driving style in three words? Banana rack end. Clear as mud… but somehow it works. We see it as his driving is committed, confident and just on the right side of unhinged.

Something people definitely wouldn’t expect is that Huston is also a crocodile farmer. We might need to start fact checking these bios.

Honestly, Huston is a silent assassin - so come watch him in action at Drift Collective, The Bend on 7 March.

MEET THE DRIFT COLLECTIVE DRIVERS

Jayden Jamieson, South Australia 👋
Car: Nissan R33 Skyline (with a very recognisable VF Commodore front end 👀)

Jayden's mum explains drifting as “chaotic car synchronised swimming” and honestly, she’s not wrong. He claims to have the personality of a spreadsheet, but don’t let that fool you. Jayden brings fast, loud and committed driving and always seems to be right in the mix when the trains start forming.

Something people might not know is that as a teenager Jayden spent six months in a wheelchair after a motocross accident and had to learn how to walk again. That grit shows every time he straps in and sends it.

Pre-race rituals usually involve trying not to suffocate on exhaust fumes thanks to a windowless car, then mentally preparing to send it anyway. Practical? Maybe not. On brand? Absolutely.

One of Jayden’s proudest drifting moments so far was the wild Falcon trains at Loctoberfest.... because there’s nothing better than driving hard with the boys and hanging on for dear life.

Jayden reckons you can’t feed an addiction to tyre smoke through a TV screen, and he’s right. Nothing beats standing trackside while cars fly past at 150 km/h.

So come along and catchJayden and the red R33-Commodore-thing in action at Drift Collective SA on 7 March.

MEET THE DRIFT COLLECTIVE DRIVERS

Trent Forester, South Australia 👋
Car: Ford Falcon (pick one… he seems to drive all of them)

Trent is the Falcon man. If it’s a Ford, he can drift it - and even when he was running an NA Falcon, he proved you don’t need big power to run with the heavy hitters. His driving has always done the hard work. This time around though, word on the street is he now has a big turbo and big power, and we can’t wait to see what he does with it.

Trent describes drifting as a mix of freestyle BMX and speedway, with a bit of competitive synchronised diving thrown in. Confusing on paper, but as he puts it, you won’t really understand it until you experience it.

Off track, Trent might surprise you. He’s a bit of a health fanatic, big into bikes, and played Aussie Rules football at a solid level before injuries caught up with him. These days, his pre-race ritual is simple and non-negotiable: an iced oat latte. Everything else is just a bonus.

One of Trent’s proudest drifting moments so far was winning the Big Entry Competition at Round 2 in 2024, sending it into Turn 1 with exactly the confidence he’s known for. Aggressive, fast and full commitment.

Trent reckons you don’t quite get the full experience online. Drift Collective is all about atmosphere, being up close, and if you’re feeling brave, the chance to jump in the passenger seat is something that really shouldn’t be overlooked.

Catch Trent (and maybe a passenger ride!) at Drift Collective, The Bend on 7 March.

MEET THE DRIFT COLLECTIVE DRIVERS

Tim Rasmussen, Victoria 👋(Just over the border near Horsham… but we’d happily claim him)
Car: Black S13 Silvia

Tim is one of those people with a genuine heart of gold, and it’s so good to see him back on track with his car better than ever. He describes drifting as “dancing on four wheels without stepping on toes,” which sums him up perfectly. His driving style is fun, wild and loose - the kind that makes drifting look effortless, even when it absolutely isn’t.

Off track, Tim enjoys the simple things. Watering the lawn is genuinely one of them. (Can you please come and do ours???). Pre-race rituals are all about peace of mind - he always checks the oil, even when he already knows it’s full.

One of Tim’s proudest drifting moments wasn’t about results or trophies. It was having his ill father-in-law come out to watch the first Drift Collective round last year - a reminder of why this sport and this community mean so much.

When asked why drifting is better watched live, Tim put it perfectly: why watch the AFL live instead of on TV? Because it’s just better.

Catch Tim back in action at Drift Collective, The Bend on 7 March.

MEET THE DRIFT COLLECTIVE DRIVERS

Shae Russell, South Australia 👋
Car: Blue Nissan Cefiro

Shae has been a consistent presence in the SA drifting scene, and with a sister who also drifts, it’s fair to say the addiction runs in the family. Calm, committed and quietly competitive, he brings a fast, exciting and solid approach to his driving - something we haven’t seen enough of lately. When Shae was competing consistently, he was regularly landing on the podium. Now we’re keen to see what comes next.

Shae describes drifting as controlling an out-of-control car while still nailing angle, line and speed - whether you’re leading or chasing someone who’s trying to mirror your every move. Simple in theory. Not so simple in practice.

Off track, Shae runs his own business and keeps things pretty straightforward. Pre-race rituals are about making sure the car’s ready to party, then heading out to enjoy it. He tries not to frame it as a “battle” - that’s when the nerves creep in. Instead, it’s about having a blast. Solid advice, especially for newer competitors.

Shae reckons drifting is always better watched live. The thrill, sound and speed of standing on the wall while cars fly past doesn’t come close to a livestream.

Catch Shae in action at Drift Collective, The Bend on 7 March.

MEET THE DRIFT COLLECTIVE DRIVERS

Hunter Carey, Victoria 👋
Car: Multi‑coloured Toyota GT86

Hunter is one of the younger drivers coming out of Victoria and already making a name for himself. His approach to drifting is simple: controlling the uncontrolled - and being consistent at it. Aggressive, committed and a little bit risky… exactly how the crowds like it.

Something people definitely wouldn’t expect about Hunter is that at just 16 years old, he’s also a professional hand model. Is it a real thing? We’re not entirely sure… but the Pretty Hands Club mentions suddenly make a lot more sense.

His pre‑race rituals include sim drifting and a very important last‑minute bathroom stop. Priorities.

One of Hunter’s proudest drifting moments so far was placing 3rd in his very first competition event - no small feat, and a sign of what’s coming next.

Hunter reckons drifting has to be experienced live. Feeling the speed, smelling the fuel and rubber, and seeing the action up close gives you a completely different perspective.

Catch Hunter lining up with us at Drift Collective, The Bend on 7 March.
Young talent, big sends and plenty more to come.

MEET THE DRIFT COLLECTIVE DRIVERS

Sam Mudge, NSW 👋
Car: Red Nissan S13 Silvia

Sam is one of those drivers who keeps drifting fun. Down to earth, always up for a laugh, and never afraid of a bit of mischief, he brings great energy both on and off the track.

Sam reckons drifting is basically normal car racing, just twice as fun. His driving style backs that up - loose, fast and reckless in the best possible way, with an RB20 that seems to go forever when it’s on song.

Off track, Sam operates a directional drill all over NSW and Victoria. Long story short, he puts pipe in the ground. On track, things are a little less tidy.

Sam says his proudest drifting moment hasn’t happened yet, because he still hasn’t beaten Matt Harvey. But winning the Levi Clarke Big Entry Comp at his home track, surrounded by mates he grew up watching and learning from, comes pretty close.

Sam agrees the best part of watching drifting live is being right up close - seeing behind the scenes in the pits, interacting with drivers, and maybe even ending up in a passenger seat for a ride you won’t forget.

Catch Sam “Muffin” Mudge bringing the vibes to Drift Collective, The Bend on 7 March.

MEET THE DRIFT COLLECTIVE DRIVERS

Kale Scott, South Australia 👋
Car: Nissan Sonvia (the prettiest one we’ve seen him in yet)

The man behind Scott’s Tyres, Kale's a huge supporter of the sport and a key part of what keeps SA drifting rolling - literally, with tyre support and changes at our events.

Kale reckons drifting is about using a car for exactly what it was never designed to do... controlling something that’s technically out of control, right on the limit. The driving might look hard, but keeping a car alive through the abuse is often the real challenge. Aggressive and committed behind the wheel, Kale always puts on a show - which is why we’re quietly hoping the Sonvia comes back in one piece this time around 😅

Off track, Kale owns one of the busiest tyre shops in Southern Adelaide - a business that actually started because of drifting. What began as fitting his own tyres to save money turned into something much bigger.

Kale says drifting is something you need to see live. Feeling the noise, the speed and the atmosphere up close is an experience you just don’t get through a screen.

Catch Kale and the Sonvia in action at Drift Collective, The Bend on 7 March.
