You’ll also spot CeMAT Australia featured inside the front cover of this issue

Worth a read if you’re across facilities, buildings, or the future of industry.

None of what we know or assume to be true about the future of facility management will matter if we can’t increase the number of women in FM.

FM Media has partnered with CeMAT Australia to examine the changing relationship between facilities, operations and sustainability.

The past year tested our industry. And it revealed something important.

2025 brought uncertainty to materials handling and supply chains worldwide. Tariffs shifted without warning. Investment decisions slowed. Energy costs rose. Labour shortages persisted. And yet, the industry did not stand still.

In this comprehensive feature, our media partner Forkliftaction reflects on the defining forces of the year; from global trade disruption and the rise of new manufacturing markets, to the steady acceleration of automation, electrification and sustainability.

The message from industry leaders is clear: progress continues when decisions are grounded in practicality, resilience and long-term value.

These are the same realities shaping conversations across Australia’s warehouses, distribution centres and manufacturing sites today.

At CeMAT Australia, these themes come together in one place, where industry leaders, solution providers and operators engage with the challenges that matter most, and the opportunities that follow.

With over 30 competitors across the individual and corporate competitions, we witnessed focus, precision, power, and pure talent, from solo operators aiming for individual glory to tightly coordinated teams giving it everything they had.

To every driver who took part, we thank you. You reminded everyone just how critical and skilled forklift operators are to the heartbeat of our supply chains.

Attachment Sponsor: GenieGrips

Your support powered the competition from start to finish, and helped us create a truly memorable experience for competitors and spectators alike.

We’re proud to celebrate the outstanding performances of our 2025 champions:

Corporate Competition Winners
1st – M3 Logistics/Mediaplant
2nd – Bunnings Warehouse Australia
3rd – Primary Connect

Individual Competition Winners
1st – Kaelyn Pakoti (Sydney Trains)
2nd – Andrew Galea (Krost Furniture)
3rd – Joe Willow (Primary Connect)

It's been an amazing experience to have hosted this platform to celebrate excellence in materials handling, and we’re thrilled to announce that the Australian Forklift Championship will return, bigger and bolder, at CeMAT Australia 2026 in Melbourne.

See you in Melbourne.
