First Time in Australia: China National Opera House 🎭

A major moment for classical music lovers — China National Opera House is coming to Australia for the first time this July, presenting Opera Gala: East Meets West at :
📍Melbourne Recital Centre on 18 July and
📍Sydney Opera House Concert Hall on 19 July.

Founded in 1952, the company is one of China’s most prestigious national opera institutions, with decades of international touring experience across Europe and the Americas 🌏, representing the highest level of Chinese operatic performance on the global stage. This concert brings together a distinguished ensemble of vocalists and full orchestra 🎶 in a programme that blends Western opera favourites — including Carmen, La Traviata and Turandot — with beloved Chinese classics such as Butterfly Lovers and My Motherland, creating a rare cross-cultural musical encounter.

Marking the 100th anniversary of Turandot 🎼, the performance will feature the iconic aria Nessun Dorma, adding a special layer of meaning to the evening. Tickets go on sale to the general public from 23 April 🎟️, with early bird offers available.

On the fifth day of the New Year, the 2026 Lunar New Year Concert brought together over 2,000 people for an unforgettable night of music, laughter and shared memories.
