German born, Sydney based ‘KURLY’ has quickly become a vital figure in the local underground music scene. As a highly regarded selector of driving and psychedelic techno, she is known for captivating dancefloors with her energetic sets.
From the early days of learning the craft, she devoted herself to refining her skills while simultaneously supporting the struggling underground community. In addition to performing, she actively assisted her peers with event promotion and curating diverse lineups to provide opportunities for emerging talent, especially female artists.
She performs in settings ranging from secret warehouse raves and bush doofs, to iconic Sydney venues such as Chinese Laundry. Her style is as versatile as it is distinctive, effortlessly navigating between dark, brooding techno and uplifting, euphoric anthems. This dynamic interplay of tension - darkness and light - forms the core of her performances, keeping the audience moving throughout her sets. In addition to performing alongside many local talents, she has supported prominent interstate and international artists in the past two years. Some of these include Miles from Mars, Akari System, Luis M, Kozy (Alpaka Muzik) and AIO (Kosmos).
Kicking off her music production journey, she debuted her first track in January of 2026.
Through relentless hard work and commitment, she continues her DJ residency at Puzzles Records, a dark minimal & psytechno event group and record label based in Sydney. Regular performances at bush gatherings across the east coast provide a great balance to her consistent club shows. Looking ahead, Kurly is eager to continue growing as a DJ and diving deeper into music production. Her performance at the Art Valley NYE 2025/2026 gathering saw her debut her first track to a vibrant dancefloor.
