A warm, wonderful friend whose gentle presence and strength shone through all her much-loved, greatly-valued roles on stage, film and television. Many of us will be lifting a glass in gratitude every time we visit the Ensemble Theatre and its very special (Lorraine) Bayly's Restaurant. We'll look out on beautiful harbour, on the ever-changing play of light on the water, and recall, with gratitude, the pivotal part she played, while still a student of Hayes Gordon, in transforming the old Kirribilli boatshed into the 'iconic' venue it is to-day. ❤️

We are saddened to learn of the passing of the legendary Australian actress Lorraine Bayly AM who graced stage and screen for over six decades, including here at the Royal in The Season at Sarsaparilla (1963), Mary, Mary (1963-1964), Chase Me, Comrade (1965), Calendar Girls (2010, pictured), and When Dad Married Fury (2012). Our thoughts are with her loved ones at this time.
