The S,B&W Foundation was delighted to host Theatre Heritage Australia's inaugural winter lecture with Dr John Senczuk this past Sunday.
John spoke about his research into the life and family history of Dr Rodney Seaborn AO OBE and the establishment of The Seaborn, Broughton & Walford Foundation, the history of the estate and the building that housed first, the Ni**od Theatre and, later, the SBW Stables, together with the history of Griffin Theatre Company and the ways in which these threads were interlinked.
John is currently completing a book on Dr Seaborn and his S,B&W Foundation to be launched at a special celebration of the Foundation's 40th Anniversary on 21st September at the UUSC Club - details in the the Foundation's forthcoming August Newsletter.
Thank you to all who attended at the Seaborn Library and had the room abuzz with discussion. These events, representing a partnership between the THA and the Friends of the S,B&W Foundation, have become popular and bookings are already coming in for next talk, 'Follow Your Dream', by Kim Carpenter AM on August 26th at 2 for 2.30pm
It was fabulous to see so many familiar faces, and to provide a welcoming space for theatre lovers and theatre practitioners to reconnect, renew friendships and exchange ideas.
