The Royal Agricultural Society of NSW is saddened by the loss of Wayne ‘Scotty’ Scott, a much-loved member of the Sydney Royal Dog Show community who dedicated 33 years to the Show.

Beginning as a Steward at Moore Park, Wayne went on to serve as Assistant Chief Steward and, most recently, Chief Steward, leading a panel of more than 15 stewards each day across Conformation Judging.

Wayne was part of the fabric of the Sydney Royal Dog Show. His commitment to the Show was matched by the kindness, generosity and good humour he brought to it. A true gentleman, he was universally loved by his stewarding team, exhibitors, officials and staff.

Wayne was also a Life Member of Liverpool Kennel Club and a passionate member of the wider dog community.

His loss will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside him. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Wayne’s family, friends and the many members of the dog community who knew him so well.

Scotty leaves an enduring legacy at the Sydney Royal Dog Show and will be greatly missed.

The pavilion may look a little different (and no prizes for guessing it’s a whole lot quieter!) but the RAS mission to champion dedication, skill and excellence is exactly the same! 🏆🥇🏆

😍🌟😍🌟😍

🎡🎪🐾12 days, 17 Judges, more than 2500 dogs, 1200 Exhibitors and hundreds of classes. What a Show!

Records were broken and incredible memories made from day one, with Nahrof Zypperty and Penny Dalzell notching up their sixth consecutive Obedience Best in Trial win. For Conformation it was the standard of excellence of the dogs, and the congratulatory cheers from other Exhibitors that really stood out while our Festival of Dog Sports thanks to fab sponsor Ora Pet Beds, saw action on the lawn heat up even after the sun went down.

The NSW Police Canine Team lit up the lunch breaks while the fast and furious display team from the Agility Dog Club of NSW had the crowd cheering for more. We delivered exactly that on day 12 with our Agility Trial amping up the action.

🏆The General Specials Day extravaganza saw two canine heroes crowned and another record broken with James Bennett and Lance Wright’s incredible Standard Poodle, Supreme Champion Voila Raising the Stakes winning Best in Show for the second year in a row. The previous record had stood since 1934!

An enormous congratulations also to Border Collie, Supreme Champion Pukawidgee the Moon in Winter, Ashlee Houlden, Lynette Houlden and Jarrod Tyler for their amazing success at the Show, capped off with the Sydney FCI International Best in Show crown.

The Show wouldn’t be the Show without the support and exceptional generosity of our sponsor ADVANCE™, the talent and tireless contribution of the Ingrid Matschke photography team and the time, knowledge and professionalism of the best Judging and Stewarding team ever! 🤩

A big thank you as well to Dogs NSW for supporting our event and staging the amazing Grooming Championship. Our gratitude as well to our commercial exhibitors who had the public shopping up a storm, and to the clubs who attended our Meet the Breed Day, going all out with their displays and providing endless puppy pats for the public.

Finally, to our Exhibitors...you are the lifeblood of the Sydney Royal Dog Show, and we thank you for supporting our event and preparing your dogs to perfection. We hope you enjoyed your Sydney Royal experience as much as we enjoyed watching you.

🐾🎪🎡Monday was the final day of the ADVANCE™ Sydney Royal Dog Show, and our agility dogs were absolutely on fire, capping off 12 days of competition with a high octane showcase that had the crowd hooked from go to whoa.

A big thank you as well to all the clubs who participated in our Meet the Breed Display ensuring the public left the pavilion having fallen in love with Siberian Huskies, Field Spaniels, German Shepherd Dogs, Golden Retrievers, Poodles, Australian Terriers, Tibetan Mastiffs, Shetland Sheepdogs, Norwegian Elkhounds, Collies, Klee Kais and the most adorable Australian Cattle Dog puppies you’ve ever seen 🥰

At the other end of the pavilion it was a blur of fur and a whir of clippers with the Dogs NSW Championship Grooming Show which also had the public queuing up to watch the action. ✂🐩🏆

Stand by for a final Sydney Royal wrap once the events team has packed up and caught up on some 😴. In the meantime, congratulations to all final day Exhibitors who delivered a thrilling end to the Show. We hope you enjoyed your day as much as we enjoyed watching you 😘

Poodle Voila Raising the Stakes, exhibited by Mr J Bennett and Mr L G Wright, has been awarded Best in Show at the 2026 ADVANCE™ Sydney Royal Dog Show.

This marks only the second time in the history of the Sydney Royal Dog Show that the same dog has won Best in Show in two consecutive years.

Congratulations to the winner and all finalists, and a big thank you to all the judges involved in this year’s Show.
