Thank you to all the DJs who played over the weekend! Another great weekender and so great to have interstate and international DJs on the bill this year. The tunes were outstanding! We recorded some sets so will get those out over the coming weeks.

It was also our last Saturday at the SPCC as we have learned that they will be doing some major building renovations over next year on the whole site. Sad to see the place go but exciting to see what replaces it.

Big thanks to the crew at The Eveleigh Hotel for welcoming us with open arms and their amazing hospitality. It was a great Sunday and we can’t wait to do more events there, stay tuned!

Big shout out to Andrea, Frazer, Lynda and Lisa for the superb door duties, we can’t do these things without the help of our community and really appreciate giving your time and excellent customer service skills to welcome everyone with a smile and help make people feel like part of the community.

Last of all, to all the dancers who come each year, we do this for you! So great to see so many familiar faces and new ones too.

See you next November for the National!

Introducing your DJs for the 2026 Sydney Soul Weekender!

We are absolutely thrilled to welcome the one and only Freddy DeBoe (US) to the Sydney Soul Weekender!

Known for his soulful saxophone sound, Freddy DeBoe performs and travels the world with some of the greatest soul singers of our time; Daptone’s Sharon Jones, Charles Bradley, Lee Fields, & James Hunter, just to name a few! He has also been leading his own instrumental rhythm & blues band in NYC, and globally in Australia, France & Spain. Along his journeys he has collected a substantial 45 collection of some of his favorite northern soul and rhythm & blues classics and rarities.

He’ll be playing an all vinyl set alongside our world class DJs:

We are super thrilled to host a very special guest DJ this Sunday spinning tunes with our resident DJ DJ Prince Mikey

Joel Hamlin is a collector and DJ proudly hailing from the north side of Melbourne. He is the cohost of the night ‘Get It Together’ and has been a regular attendee at soul weekenders around the country since 2013. Soul music is his obsession and it shines through in his DJ sets. From the rare to under played you can bet your bottom dollar you’ll hear nothing but tasty selections!

So grab some mates and head down to The Roosevelt Bar & Restaurant this Sunday from 4pm to catch these two in what will be a very special Sunday.

Sunday Soul is curated by the Sydney Soul Weekender crew, bringing you the best 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, Northern and rare soul DJs with the greatest record collections around.

We are super excited to welcome back to the decks this weekend at the home of Sunday Soul, .

Sister Savage has an excellent record collection with tonnes of top tunes to entertain you.

As usual, the Roosevelt has amazing food and drink specials on a Sunday, so head down and grab yourself a table with some friends and enjoy the end of the weekend with us!

As a few people have been asking for dates, we thought it best to give you all an update.

We are in the process of securing venues for this year’s Weekender. We will, however, be back at the Sydney Portugal Club for our Saturday all- dayer session!

Please put the weekend of 22-23 August in your diaries for this year’s Sydney Soul Weekender. Tickets will go on sale as soon as we secure all venues for the weekend.

Thank you to everyone who attended this year's Sydney Soul Weekender! It was such a great success, and that's all thanks to each and every one of you!

Big thanks also to the fabulous venues that hosted us: Sydney Portugal Community Club Limited & thebatandballhotel

We were able to make a $780 donation to GO Foundation with profits from the ticket sales. The GO Foundation provides educational scholarships for children and young people from Year 1 to university that empower young Indigenous Australians to thrive. We are very proud to support this charity again this year to help them continue the good work that they do.

Can't wait to do it all again next year, until then...
