🧡 Meet Our Event Ambassador: Craig Campbell 🧡
Following National Volunteer Week, we want to shine a spotlight on a true parkrun powerhouse who keeps the magic running behind the scenes—our Event Ambassador, Craig Campbell.
As our Volunteer Event Ambassador, Craig is the vital link between our team at Menai and parkrun HQ. He generously gives up his own time to mentor event teams, support Event Directors, and oversee 9 different parkruns across Sydney. In fact, Craig was the original organiser who founded, set up, and built the team for Casula Parklands parkrun.
To say Craig lives and breathes volunteering is an understatement.
Check out these stats since he started on 6 June 2015:
🏃♂️ 312 parkruns completed across 63 different locations (including the UK, Scotland, and France)
🛠 Swapped shoes to volunteer in 22 distinct event roles
🧡 Clocked up a massive 287 volunteer credits
Craig's passion for supporting parkrun participants goes way beyond Saturday mornings. This photo shows Craig volunteering in the freezing, middle-of-the-night conditions up in the Blue Mountains for Ultra Trail Australia—an event he has completed AND supported many times.
Alongside balancing family life, he also gives his time to major events like the Sydney Marathon, Bondi to Manly Ultra, and the grueling Southern Sydney Track Ultra over 24 hours. He frequently extends his impact by supporting other worthy challenges and charities, including MS and the Cancer Council.
Whether it is a local 5k or a 24-hour endurance race, Craig is always there encouraging his fellow participants.
Even though his Ambassador role keeps him busy moving between 9 different events, we are incredibly grateful to have his guidance and leadership supporting Menai parkrun from behind the scenes.
Thank you for everything you do for your family, the running community, and these vital charities, Craig.
