Iffland’s ‘go get ’em’ approach puts her in rare air: Rodriguez.

Joel Rodriguez, New South Wales Institute of Sport’s Assistant (NSWIS) Diving Coach, said he hoped Rhiannan Iffland’s latest cliff-diving victory would reinforce to diving’s Generation Next the importance of possessing her traits – especially decency, fearlessness and resilience.

Iffland recently notched her 46th victory on the Red Bull Cliff Diving circuit when she defeated Canada’s Molly Carlson and Switzerland’s Morgane Herculano at Bali. It was the perfect start to her bid to win what would be a mind-blowingly, historic 10th straight King Kahekili Trophy triumph as the world’s best female cliff diver.

Thanks to NSWIS’s Connection to Country Advisor Tay-Leiha Clark and Trevor Eastwood from Dalmarri, staff were able to participate in a Cultural Day at Cathy Freeman Park.

It was a great opportunity for staff to connect with the rich history of Wangal land - now known as Sydney Olympic Park - through a hands-on cultural experience. The day included taking part in a smoke cleansing ceremony, observing historical artifacts, boomerang throwing, traditional painting.

It was a day of engagement, learning and connection.

Toohey: the swimmer whose ‘stuff’ makes people happy.

There’s an unmistakeable wholesomeness in the tone of teenager Sienna Toohey’s voice when she explains why she’ll never forget her selection in last year’s Australian Dolphins team that competed at the World Aquatic Championships in Singapore.

Toohey qualified for the Australian team when she finished first in the 100m breaststroke final at the 2025 Australian World Championship Swimming Trials in Adelaide by hitting the wall in a time of 1:06.65.
