Sydney Pride Festival 2026

Sydney Pride Festival 2026 The Sydney Pride Festival is a special time for the LGBTQI community as we remember the history and celebrate the future.

Sydney Pride Festival 2026: Connected in Colour
Sydney, Australia. June, Sydney will come alive with a vibrant celebration of community, resilience, and unity as Sydney Pride Festival 2026 takes centre stage. Running from June 1st to June 30th, this year’s festival embraces the theme “Connected in Colour”, honouring the strength and beauty that comes from standing together as one diverse community

. This year also marks a special milestone: 15 years since Sydney Pride first expanded into a month-long festival. What began as a series of events has grown into one of Sydney’s most significant celebrations of LGBTQIA+ culture, history, and visibility. The 2026 program pays tribute to this journey while looking boldly toward the future. From dazzling theatre and art to live music, drag, and community-led events, Sydney Pride Month 2026 is a powerful reminder that Pride is not just about celebration—it’s about connection. The theme “Connected in Colour” symbolises the ties that link us, the diversity that strengthens us, and the solidarity that drives us forward. This year’s festival also continues to reflect on the history that shapes us. It honours the courageous 78ers who led the first Sydney Mardi Gras in 1978, standing firm in the face of discrimination, and remembers the pivotal 1969 Stonewall Riots that ignited the global Pride movement. These moments remind us that our shared story is one of resilience, unity, and progress. Festival Coordinator Glenn Hansen shares the vision behind the 2026 theme:
“’Connected in Colour’ is about celebrating the threads that tie us together as a community. No matter our differences, we are united by Pride. This festival is an invitation for everyone to come together—to stand proud, celebrate who we are, and support one another. Reaching 15 years as a festival is a testament to the strength of our community and the power of connection.”
Expect bold drag shows, art exhibitions, street parties, thought-provoking forums, and fundraisers that shine a light on LGBTQIA+ causes. With local businesses, artists, and performers uniting, Sydney Pride Festival 2026 promises a month of celebration that is as inclusive as it is unforgettable. The full festival program will be released in mid-May. Until then, mark your calendars, get ready to celebrate, and join us in showing the world what it means to be Connected in Colour.

Enter the Temple of Desire: where the sensual meets the sacred

Fresh from award-winning, sold-out seasons in Melbourne and Toronto, 20 dancers beckon us into a visually stunning world of beauty and desire. Drawing from their training in the classical Indian dance form of Bharatanātyam, they rediscover a pre-colonial world where the divine and the sensual unite with splendour and power. A celebratory world where pleasure and joy (കാമ / kāma) are not forbidden but are pathways to liberation (മോക്ഷ / mōksha).
