We’re more than a week into the festival – but that means there is more than a week left of good times to be had, at venues including the Ace Hotel Sydney, Alberto’s Lounge, Golden Age Cinema & Bar, Hollywood Hotel, Pellegrino 2000 and heaps more. Here’s what to expect during the final 7 days of the festival.

An immersive technicolour installation that’s like an otherworldly, koala-filled forest. Hotel suites reimagined as private karaoke rooms (with fully stocked minibars). One of Melbourne’s coolest chefs takes over Alberto’s Lounge. Bargain Negronis at Pellegrino 2000. And so much more.

gallery has scheduled two exciting new exhibitions, featuring the two artists (SYD) and (NYC). Both exhibitions will be open to the public for the duration of Surry Thrills, launching with the opening reception on the 16th September 6-8pm, featuring refreshments from Grifter brewery, OK Seltzer, and Lightning Mind non-alcoholic beer. The exhibitions will continue for the duration of the festival Thur-Sun.

Inspired by the history of the site of Ace Hotel Sydney, which was home to the first ceramic kiln in Australia, Ace Hotel Sydney & Sydney Design Week present the two-day-long PLAY: Community Clay with Flack Studio. All ages to come together to participate in the building of an evolving collection of temporary life-size raw clay sculptures.​​​​​​​​
