Join us at the film screening of "Palestinians Don't Need Sidewalks" - a film that profiles the brutal and oppressive Israeli system of occupation and colonisation in Occupied Palestine.

The film also highlights Australia's complicity with the Israeli-US genocide of Palestinians. Both major Australian political parties are endeavouring to reinvigorate our manufacturing industry by integrating it into the US military supply chain.

This event is hosted by Dare to Struggle Films and Leichhardt Uniting Church.

Many of the tributes to Jill Hickson make reference to her film work. Her legacy is impressive. The films include - The Women Who Were Never There (2016), Radical Wollongong (2014), Bougainville: Another Colonial War (1995) and two films on Palestine (2023 and 2024). Earlier films include “Indonesia in Revolt” and “Supersize my Pay”. Jill Hickson was not just been behind the camera. Here is a young Jill on the hustings.

I’m looking forward to joining Peter and Adel Yousif for the qanda after tonight’s screening.

I’ll be speaking at this showing of the documentary “Palestinians Don’t Need Sidewalks” tonight, and I highly recommend that you come along if you can. This film is important and powerful filmmaking by Dare to Struggle Films, and offers a compelling portrait of life under occupation through Palestinian Eyes.
