A field guide to the hugs of Pranafest 2026. ๐ฅน
We went through this year's photos and noticed there were so many hugs. So we've catalogued many of the species for science.
Here are a few examples, some not pictured...
The Arrival Hug. Car door still open, tent unpacked, someone spots you across the campground and it's on. Duration: unreasonable. Volume: yes.
The Post-Breathwork Hug. Nobody speaks. Nobody needs to. You've both just been somewhere and the hug is the debrief.
The Medicine Room Hug. Slow. Deliberate. Feels like being wrapped in a warm blanket by someone who has genuinely never been in a hurry in their life.
The Dad Hug. Firm, brief, one back pat, possibly a small sniff. Contains multitudes.
The Kid Tackle. Not technically a hug. Technically a rugby league play. Accepted anyway.
The Mid-Set Hug. Deya Dova is playing, you're both crying, you don't remember agreeing to this but here we are, swaying.
The Group Hug That Keeps Growing. Started with three people. Now eleven. Somebody's holding a chai. Nobody knows whose.
The Goodbye Hug. Long, slightly damp, ends with "same time next year" said like a vow.
๐๐ฝ Swipe through and find yourself. Tag the person you were holding.
Which hug were you?
