Redlands4Stanthorpe Rugby League Carnival

Welcome to our Redlands4Stanthorpe Rugby League Carnival page. We are so proud and excited to announce our upcoming rugby league carnival on 14th March at Sullivan Oval Stanthorpe.

The carnival started with an idea by Troy Colley, who was born and bred in Stanthorpe but now calls the Redlands his home. Troy’s son Cooper (Chip) has played at the club for the last 4 years and Troy has been involved in the coaching side with the club. He wanted to organise for a few teams from the Redlands Rugby League Club to go and play against the Stanthorpe Gremlins. He started playing with the Gremlins as a young boy growing up in Stanthorpe.

Troy took the idea to Todd Flahey who is the president of the Redlands Rugby League Club and Todd loved the idea of the two clubs coming together. Todd and Troy worked together with Lindsay Adams and Mitch Hurtz who are the respective president and vice president of the Stanthorpe Gremlins, to get as many teams on board as possible and it has now grown into teams coming from Redlands, Toowoomba, Warwick and Districts and Tenterfield.

Todd has also organised a much needed water drive to take up to Stanthorpe on the day due to the devastating droughts and bushfires that are decimating the area. The Redlands Rugby League club is in the process of organising a Fun Run on 23rd February, they have had Barton’s Holden donate the use of 6 utes to help transport the water that weekend and have received amazing support from not only the football community but also the Redlands business and local community.
