Gold Coast City Brass Band is a volunteer, community based, not for profit organisation. Our Musical Director is Mr Danny Ellem.

Gold Coast City Brass Band is a volunteer, community based, not for profit organisation that has proudly served the Gold Coast since 1902. If it happened on the Gold Coast then the Gold Coast City Brass Band was there to help Celebrate the Occasion! We play a variety of brass band music (both modern and traditional) for the enjoyment of both the players and audience. We strive for the band, and ou

r individual members, to improve musically whilst still having fun in a relaxed atmosphere. We perform at events such as Australia Day Citizenship Awards, Anzac Day Parades, the Gold Coast Moncrief Community Awards, and many other community events including a variety of concerts, workshops and, of course, Community Christmas Carols. Danny has been a part of brass bands for over 36 years, ranging from Ipswich to Brisbane and now the Gold Coast. He has a passion for teaching new students and also developing existing musicians. We are a current member of the Queensland Band Association.

Join us tomorrow, Sunday, 22nd March at 2pm for an afternoon of toe-tapping tunes and brass brilliance at the Gold Coast City Brass Band Shell.

In their preparations for Nationals over Easter, it features the talented Surfers Paradise Brass Band which includes members of the Gold Coast City Brass Band, plus some incredible quartets and soloists – there’s something for everyone to enjoy!

Beautiful effort from all those involved in the first day of the Queensland Brass Championships at Sommerville House.

Some of our members participated in the B-Grade section for Winsor Excelsior and Surfers Paradise Brass Band.

Queensland State Band Championships THIS WEEKEND!

We are extremely fortunate enough to have a few members from the Gold Coast City Brass Band playing with Surfers Paradise Brass Band and Winsor Excelsior Brass Band in B-Grade and Gold Coast Wind Orchestra in A-Grade.

Special mention to Allison Au, Rick Currie, Graham Robinson, Brian Cockerall, Josh Stafford and Musical Director Danny Ellem.

We hope you can find the time to view at least one band.

We're ready for our exciting Combined Concert today with Surfers Paradise Brass Band and Benowa Brass.

For those of you joining, here is the aerial view of the Hall location and suitable parking.

LOCATION - 'The Great Hall' at Miami State High School 2137-2205 Gold Coast Highway, Miami
TIME - 2pm
Door entry fees can be paid by cash or EFTPOS.

Tea/Coffee and a light served at intermission for a gold coin donation.

Raffles on the day too with some great prizes.

🔥🔥 UPCOMING COMBINED CONCERT 🔥🔥

"Surfside Sounds" is our upcoming, open to the public concert in which we are very lucky to be joining Surfers Paradise Brass Band.

Saturday 19th July 2025 at Miami State High School "Great Hall" (more details in flyer).
Concert commencing at 2pm with a short tea and raffles break, then back in for more music.

Gold Coin donation for the tea/coffee and treat break.

EFTPOS facilities available at the door.

We look forward to providing you with a wonderful afternoon of brass music 🎶
