Special Notice.
Limited Custom Designed Knives and Extra Special, Ultra Limited Box Sets Coming this Year.

HI everyone, it has been a couple of years since we did a knife, and a few years since we did a limited run.
Well the wait is over. Actually, there’s still a bit of a wait, I’m still working on the prototypes.

I have designed three knives for everyday use, from spreading salted French butter on a baguette, to a bit of wood carving. These small fixed blade knives will be made in Australia by veterans to commemorate three courageous operations carried out by World War II commandos.

The models will be called; Semut, Rimau and Jaywick. They will be limited to 25 of each offered for sale, plus three special boxed sets.

Details to be announced when the prototyping is complete.

PSA.

If you’re a veteran and are going to be putting in a claim for compensation, there are two important things to consider.

1- the new Vets Act levels the field for full time and reserve defence members.
2- the RSL have advocates that are free.

There are many advocacy groups popping up that will take a fee.

The RSL is free and can advocate directly with DVA.

You may need to speak to a couple of different advocates to find the one that suits you best, particularly if you are or were a reservist.

Make wise decisions.

The 23rd May marks 15 years since we lost Sergeant Brett Wood.

Brett was serving with the Special Operations Task Group when he was tragically killed by an explosive device in the conduct of operations within a Taliban Safe Haven in Afghanistan.

Aged 32 at the time of his death, Brett was from the Sydney-based 2nd Commando Regiment.

Brett enlisted in the Australian Army on the 13th February 1996 and, post initial training, was allocated to the 6th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment. He later successfully completed Commando training and was posted to 2nd Commando Regiment (then the 4th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment) in 1998.

Brett has seen operational service in Bougainville, East Timor, Iraq and Afghanistan.

He was an absolute professional emulated by many, given his service was of the highest order and he excelled in everything he did. Brett’s loss is sorely felt by his unit, mates and all who knew him.

Brett left behind his beloved wife, loving parents, sisters and brothers.

Vale Sergeant Brett Wood.

I know the rule, photos or it didn’t happen. Well, we weren’t able to take photos this morning.
At the Dawn Service in Williamstown, DDVWP along with members of Highway Thunder Social Motorcycle Club (HTSMC) presented a donation cheque to Doug Knight for the Australian Commando Association and a plaque (made by HTSMC) to the Officer Commanding 1 CDO REGT, 2 CDO COY.
I can say with confidence that both were gratefully accepted.
