Dunghutti Elders Council Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC is seeking a committed and organised Administration Officer to support daily operations and provide high‑quality service to community members and stakeholders. This role is central to keeping our office running smoothly and includes supervising the Administration Assistant.
As the Registered Native Title Body Corporate for the Dunghutti People, we work to protect Country, strengthen culture and support our community. We are looking for someone who shares these values and brings strong organisational skills, cultural respect and a genuine commitment to community.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee daily office operations and maintain an organised, professional workspace
• Supervise, support and guide the Administration Assistant
• Manage reception, incoming calls and visitor enquiries
• Maintain filing systems, document preparation and accurate record‑keeping
• Process invoices, manage orders and support basic financial administration
• Prepare correspondence, reports and routine documents
• Coordinate bookings, calendars, travel and meeting logistics
• Provide executive and secretarial support to management
• Liaise with Elders, community members and stakeholders in a culturally respectful manner
About You
• Strong communication skills and a respectful, professional phone manner
• Confident computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, email and office equipment
• Ability to supervise and support an Administration Assistant
• Good judgement, reliability and the ability to prioritise tasks
• Commitment to cultural safety and working in a way that honours Elders
• Current driver’s licence
• Ability to work independently and as part of a community‑focused team
Selection Criteria
• Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
• Demonstrated experience in administration
• Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, email systems and office technology
• Good communication skills and professional telephone manner
• Ability to supervise and support junior staff
• Ability to multi‑task and manage competing priorities
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Current driver’s licence
