The Market provides a place for both locals and visitors to the area to socialise, eat brekky, brunch, lunch or afternoon tea, hear live local music, buy local produce, craft, art and much more. On the selling side, locals get to fund raise for their sporting or community group or charity. Talented locals also get to sell their wares - original or 2nd hand, yummy hot food, tea, coffee, sweet delicacies and local produce at the 113 year old Sandfly Community Hall. The Hall has played a big part in the social and sporting history of the area. Come and shop or sell locally and keep creating that history.

These two magnificent lovely sisters, Deb and Karen, have/ has decided; It’s time for us to say goodbye, we want to retire and relax, enjoy our time and do no more hectic markets.

They have been part of Sandfly Market for YEARS, and have been extremely faithful, coming each and every last Saturday, serving their beautiful savoury food and excellent coffee, chai’s, chocolate, milk shakes, toasties, and vegan hot soup during winter, as well as hotdogs and meat rolls.

Please come and say goodbye to them this Saturday 30th. May!

We will miss them!!!

I personally will miss the banter, and tongue in cheek “insults” that we had going between us!!

Two lovely ladies that we will miss so much!!!!!

To Karen and Deb!!!

Hello all you wonderful people!!!

I can hardly believe it’s two months since we had our last market!!

We will be a few stall holders down this month but, there will also be new faces and stalls!

Helma and I will be working with Debra and Karen in their coffee van to teach us what to do and how to run the van.

We are buying their van and will take it over from Monday 1st. June.

We will combine the honey side and Helma’s sweet treats with the coffee van.

This Saturday we will set one of our gazebo’s up next to the van, where we will display our honey and treats.

We have beautiful handcrafted wares inside the hall anything from baby clothes, jewellery, cakes and savoury foods, beautiful soap, hand spun wool by Moira and her exquisite knit ware.

Quirky birds nest boxes, jams, cakes chutney, bric’a’brac, beautiful handmade cutting boards

Jen asked me to spruik her heat packs, they’re normally $45 but, she’s doing a fire sale and they will go for $25 per pack!!!

Last, but not least: This months feature stall is Fiona’s wildlife charity.

She does a lot of work in that area, come and have a chat with her and find out how you can help and support her work!

The weather forecast says that the rain will ease up late tomorrow afternoon and be less over the weekend.

What does a bit of rain mean to us Taswegians?!

NOTHING, it’s just weather!

Come and join us, check out the awesome products, have a coffee, a biscuit or cake, perhaps some savoury hot food.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Here’s Bev Tyler, and yours truly.

Bev comes to nearly all the markets we do, she’s the sweetest lady you can imagine!

I call her Sexy Babe, she loves it!😜

She “sneaks” up on me and gives my behind a good whack with her walking stick, asking; hey!
Where’s my sugar?!?!😄

It’s on its way, sexy babe!😄

This is what our community market is about; making connections, nurture new friendships, some with a bit of humour and teasing, and Bev is just a wonderful loving lady, and we love her!

20/04/2026

I get my Long Black at every market we share!

I also love their savoury food and especially their lemon tart. Hmmm, I’m not sure if that’s the right word.

Just trust me, it’s the BEST!

19/04/2026

To all you lovely people who are part of this community market; Sadly we have to cancel this month’s market this coming Saturday 25th.

When I booked the year ahead for the hall with council, I didn’t realise that this year Anzac Day would be on a Saturday.

Out of respect I’ve decided to cancel the market this month.

Stall holders have agreed with my decision.

I tried to get the hall for 2nd May, but the elections are on and the hall is booked for that.

So, our next market will be Saturday 30th. May.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!
