Here’s Bev Tyler, and yours truly.

Bev comes to nearly all the markets we do, she’s the sweetest lady you can imagine!

I call her Sexy Babe, she loves it!😜

She “sneaks” up on me and gives my behind a good whack with her walking stick, asking; hey!
Where’s my sugar?!?!😄

It’s on its way, sexy babe!😄

This is what our community market is about; making connections, nurture new friendships, some with a bit of humour and teasing, and Bev is just a wonderful loving lady, and we love her!

I get my Long Black at every market we share!

I also love their savoury food and especially their lemon tart. Hmmm, I’m not sure if that’s the right word.

Just trust me, it’s the BEST!

To all you lovely people who are part of this community market; Sadly we have to cancel this month’s market this coming Saturday 25th.

When I booked the year ahead for the hall with council, I didn’t realise that this year Anzac Day would be on a Saturday.

Out of respect I’ve decided to cancel the market this month.

Stall holders have agreed with my decision.

I tried to get the hall for 2nd May, but the elections are on and the hall is booked for that.

So, our next market will be Saturday 30th. May.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Hello all you wonderful people!

Sandfly Community Market is on again this coming Saturday!

We have new stall holders joining us and I’m sure you’ll love what they’re bringing to the market!

Julie and Andrew have a stall where they sell beautifully crafted garden arts from recycled materials, it’s their first time with us, we’ve had stalls next to each other at several other markets .

The other new stall holder is Andrew, he specialises in rare coins and if you’re in to collecting coins then he has a HUGE selection to chose from!

He is also bringing a trailer full of sheep manure and the bags for it, so if you’re after good manure for your garden he’s got it!

We have our permanent stall holders as well, with all their beautiful handcrafted products.

Richard will be back this month with his beautiful wooden trucks, tractors and Utes, I watch boys when they see the collection on the table, their eyes widen and they just want to get their hands on them and get them on the floor to push them around.

Fiona, our Wildlife warrior will be in the backroom, as usual, come and have a chat with her and support her work with wildlife.

Helma and I will bring our honey and sweet treats AND, we will also bring organic produce from our backyard.

We have a sizeable well producing backyard where we grow spray free apples, pears, peaches, quinces, apricots and beautiful juicy Nashi pears, just ask the local lorikeets and native birds…….

I had to get out there this morning with a broom to chase them away, they weren’t moving until I was right in front of them, brazen little critters😜

The weather looks good for the weekend, come and have a great day out AND! The petrol station , next to the hall, is normally ten to twenty cents cheaper per litre than anywhere else!!!!

That alone is worth a stop!

Looking forward to see you all there this Saturday!🙂

Hello and greetings to all of you wonderful people who are part of this amazing community market!

We are having our next market this coming Saturday.

I’m receiving so many requests from amazing artisans, asking to join our community.

To be honest and straight, I wish we had a bigger hall and venue!

The amount of gifted artisans wanting to join our community market is staggering!

We’re a bit bigger than a local community market now.

We’ve got stall holders from all over the larger area of Hobart region, some driving one and a half hours to be part of our market, because they love this particular market, the atmosphere, the cohesion and inter friendships and support amongst our stall holders towards each other.

Not to mention; You regular wonderful people who decide to come and spend your time with us!

I got a call today about a potential new stall which I am very excited about, you have to wait a little longer to find out.

Not this month, hopefully next month.❤️

Hello all you amazing wonderful people!

Our first market for the year is this coming Saturday.

I’ve been terribly busy in my own business, beekeeping, it’s like a nightmare, self inflicted I’ll have to admit……

I won’t add pictures today, I’m completely worn down and ready to crash.

We are having new stall holders join us this month and we’re looking forward to see them at our super friendly community market.

We have our usual stall holders with their fantastic produce and products.

Fernsby coffee van will be there with their beautiful range of hot drinks, hot dogs and other savoury foods, as well as the best lemon tarts you’ve ever tasted!

We have knit wear, pre loved clothes, cookies, cakes, jewellery, bread, wooden toys, exquisitely made by Richard.

Jams, sauces, honey and dark praline chocolate with roasted almonds.

Stall with brick’a’ brack etc.

Plants amd flowers.

We’ve got something for almost every taste and desire, almost…😊

Looking forward to see you all there this coming Saturday!

Please be aware of these fake $50 notes.

Please be aware of these fake $50 notes.

👀 When accepting $50 notes, please be vigilant, this fake is different to the others we've posted recent advice about. 👀

This $50 note was picked up in Kingston recently, and unlike other fakes, it doesn't have the word 'Prop' on it, and it almost passes as legitimate.

Please be vigilant and always check $50 notes if you're receiving them.

With this note:
➡️ the material is slightly thicker than the real ones
➡️ the numbers 50 are missing from the clear window when held up to the light
➡️ a small star is visible in the circle under the writing when held up to the light.

If you detect a counterfeit note, contact police on 131 444 and provide any relevant information, including CCTV footage if possible.

I wish to say Merry Christmas to you all, and a happy and safe Christmas and a wonderful year ahead for all of you.

This first year of taking care of the market has been interesting and challenging as well.

I want to say thank you to the people who have helped behind the scenes, it has helped me and Helma tremendously.

Have a safe and wonderful Christmas break and see you all again in the new year.❤️❤️❤️

Look at this amazing write up the Kingborough Chronicle did about our beloved sweet to the core; Val!

She’s sweeter than sweet and, incredibly talented and skilled in making beautiful artisan jewellery.

She is a staunch supporter of our community market and, she’s been there from start, if I’ve got it right.

Come and be part of our community market and get some very special handcrafted gifts for your loved ones.❤️
