WE ARE INCREDIBLY PROUD — and deeply honoured — to announce that we have been awarded the Motorsport Australia SA/NT Event of the Year for 2025 for the SuperService Tyre & Auto National Hillclimb Championship.
This award means more to us than words can truly express. Because this isn’t just a Hillclimb SA achievement — this belongs to everyone who stood beside us on this journey.
First, we want to sincerely thank Kevin Raedel and Motorsport Service Solutions. Thank you for the original idea, for trusting us, and for having the faith to work together to create something special. You believed in us when we were still finding our feet, and your support helped turn a bold vision into a national-level event we can all be proud of.
To our supporters, competitors, volunteers, and officials — thank you from the very bottom of our hearts. You are the soul of this event. Without your belief, your energy, and your willingness to give your time, skills, and passion, this simply would not have happened.
It was not an easy road.
There was a rocky start. There was doubt. There was criticism about the event, its location, and even about us running it. We faced social media negativity and personal attacks. And yes — at times it was tough.
We might only be a small club. We haven’t been around for decades. But what we do have is passion. We care deeply about motorsport and about growing it in South Australia. We care about competitors. We care about community. And we care about doing things differently, creatively, and inclusively.
Despite everything thrown our way, we stood together. We lifted each other up. We stayed focused. And we were determined to deliver an event we could be proud of.
And tonight proves that we did exactly that.
To our officials and volunteers — this award belongs to you just as much as anyone.
You were there in the early mornings and long afternoons. You stood in the heat, the wind, and the dust. You handled radios, timing, safety, recovery, admin, scrutineering, and everything in between. You gave up weekends with family. You stepped into unfamiliar roles. You problem-solved on the fly. You carried the pressure quietly and professionally.
So often your work goes unseen — but please know this: we see you.
Your dedication, professionalism, and teamwork are what made this event run smoothly. You are the backbone of motorsport. Without officials and volunteers, there is no racing — and we cannot thank you enough for everything you do.
To our competitors — thank you for saying “why not,” even though this wasn’t what we traditionally do in South Australia. Thank you for trusting us, for taking that leap of faith, and for embracing something new. The track met and exceeded Hillclimb standards without exemptions and with zero incidents a first at a National event — and we know you had an incredible time out there.
We’re also incredibly proud to have been the first National event to host EVs on track, showing that they can — and will — be part of the future of motorsport.
