Hi everyone, I hope you can take a little time to read Antonin Rendl's message he sent to us. I truly believe it explains what the World Firefighters Games are all about.
Hello John,
I would like to tell you a little bit about our Czech relay team for the World Firefighters Games 2026 in Saudi Arabia.
Together with Kuba Kulhánek, we spent a lot of time thinking about how to build a strong and quality relay team. We did not choose people only because of their performance, but mainly because of who they are as people. We wanted teammates with character, discipline, teamwork, and the right attitude toward representing the Czech Republic on behalf of volunteer firefighters.
Once we knew who we wanted in the team, we contacted the guys and started preparing together for the World Championship. The team consists of Antonin Rendl, Jakub Kulhánek, Jiri Tkany, and Daniel Vrba.
I especially want to emphasize that these are not professional firefighters or professional athletes. They are volunteer firefighters. Everyone has a regular job and earns money mainly so they can afford training, competitions, travel, and the opportunity to take part in such a big World Championship as the World Firefighters Games 2026.
After work, they spend their free time training and preparing. Most things like equipment, travel costs, and competition fees are paid from our own money.
We do this mainly because we love firefighter sports, teamwork, competition, and the chance to represent the Czech Republic on behalf of volunteer firefighters on the world stage.
We truly appreciate the opportunity to be part of this championship and thank you for your support and respect.
Best regards,
Antonin Rendl and Jakub Kulhánek
Czech Republic Team
