Ryley Landsberg played for Queensland Shots and Quinlan White played for Queensland Spurs.
Shots placed 3rd in their pool and Spurs placed 2nd in their pool, which meant a Qld v Qld Quarter Final.
Shots just beat Spurs 2-1 from a Penalty Corner goal at full time, then went on to beat Victoria 3-1 in their Semi Final, having previously lost to Victoria (5-2) in their round match.
For the Grand Final, Qld Shots put up an awesome fight against the strong home team NSW State, with the score 1-1 going into the 4th quarter. NSW scored 4 goals in the last 7 minutes to secure their 5-1 Gold Medal victory and Ryleyβs Shots team earning well deserved Silver.
Quinlan and the Spurs battled on with two more wins, including a shootout victory over NSW Blues, to claim 5th place.
Both Quinlan and Ryley played well for their teams, scoring and assisting goals, winning penalty corners and doing heaps of important defensive work.
Congratulations boys, you did Queensland and Rockhampton proud!
Jodie White was a Technical Official at the tournament β her first time at indoor hockey national championships.
Jodie was Scoring Judge, Timing Judge and Technical Officer boys and girls matches, and earned appointment as Scoring Judge for the girls Gold Medal match.
